Off to Bellingham for the weekend to see family and friends!

Monday, July 19, 2010

I joined the 2010 Charming Girls Quilt Club and made Darlene's "Between Friends" quilt pattern. I used Sanae's "9". I was going to make mine a little different by slipping in some of the background color squares into my patches. I haven't decided how much/little that I like the results but...
Thanks Darlene and Kelly
I am suppose to define my goals for July and August:
1. complete my Pennsylvania Dutch BOM
2. spend time with my sister, son and friends from Bellingham;
3. complete July and August Schnibbles
4. start a Kim Diehl quilt;
5. treat myself to some Sandy time;
6. figure out how to add separate pages for separate topics!
I may come up with more goals as the month rolls by!
I have my charm squares picked out--"Happy Daisey", have all of the rectangles cut, and all of my 1.5" x 1.5" squares cut. I am ready to rock and roll!

I finished a quilt for a new customer today. I made another "Patches and Posts", this time using Hunky Dory. I added an extra row in length for Alison's daughter to grow!
I haven't even cut the charms for July's Schnibbles "Joy Luck". Hopefully, I can get started tomorrow after work.

I also finished this quilt using Sweetwater's/Moda "Make Life..." The back is a colorful pattern of "Make Life Silly Multi" and used the red fabric for the binding. I have to tell you that I love Sweetwater's designs. I am still waiting for "Pure".

I made a committment to our neice last January that I would make a doggie quilt to contribute to the Humane Society Crabfeed that is held every January. Here it is! I used Moda's "Oh My Dog". I quilted it with a doggie bone stipple. I might be a bit early but no late nights for me!

Good morning. I am just hanging out with my coffee and trying to decide what, if anything, that I am going to do today--the 4th of July! I have three quilts stacked on the quilter, waiting... I need to piece another backing together, so make that four stacked up. I have one project partially cut out and have ordered the fabric for a custom order that I picked up yesterday and Bill's Berry Farm Berry Daze.

I didn't sell any quilts yesterday, ok, maybe one table topper. But, got an order and sold all of my cookies!!! But it was the first time for Berry Daze. There were about 25 vendors, mostly collectibles and flea market finds. I enjoyed the day with in sister in law, Linda and friend Debi, both members of the Prosser Farm Girls. Got sunburned and met some new people. Plus I didn't get home until 7 pm and didn't have to cook supper!! All in all, a good day.

It has taken me forever to recover from my week-end work a couple of weeks ago! I did sew last week-end but am waiting for my backing to finished up. AND, I can't show you until they are finished!

I have spent most of today pricing and tagging my stash of finished quilts. I am going to help my sister in law tomorrow at a Berry Festival in Grandview, Washington and I am taking my quilts to see if I can sell any of them. I am also baking cookies to take and sell as well.

AND, while checking up on my favorite blogs I can across Bee In My Bonnet. Lori has posted a tutorial for a Vintage Chair Pin Cushion. I HAVE TO WIN ONE! As I told Lori, I remember sitting in the exact chairs at my grandma's in Clearfield, Utah and watching cars go by at shift change from Hill Air Force Base. All of my cousins, sister, and some of our Aunties. We would take turns and which ever car drove by when it was your turn, you got that car! We would actually be waiting for Grandpa to get off the bus at the corner. But it was a fun way to spend a couple of hours on a hot afternoon.

No golf this week-end. There is a couple's tournament and our group didn't get an early tee time on Sunday.

Before I forget again, If you are a Harter, the family reunion is Saturday August 14th at Jimmy's house. More details to follow in an email and on facebook.
