I saw on Sentimental Quilter that Kathleen Tracy was hostessing a monthly small quilt challenge, making one small quilt a month for a year. I decided to jump in and have completed the first month's quilt called "Crosses Mourning Quilt" from Prairie Children & Their Quilts. I haven't gotten mine quilted but at least the top is finished. I can't wait to see what's in store for February!

So, the big question is did she or did she not finish Jen's quilt. Well, a funny thing happened on the journey. I have lost two rows of the quilt, or did I ever make them? I have been trying to clean my room and I may have put the two rows somewhere for "safe" keeping.
I got called into work last night and took my sewing machine, fabric, iron, cutting board, etc. with me. I then work on my quilting in between testing. So, about 11 pm, as I am sewing two rows together, I am thinking only two rows to go. AND all the pieces have been sewn, so I figure a piece of cake. Just sew the blocks together and I am ready to quilt. Now, if I can't find my missing rows, I have four rows to go!
Here are some pics of two lap quilts that I finished stitching together. Last week I found 16 finished and leftover blocks of pink Moda's "Blush" from a quilt that I made a couple of years ago. I brought them upstairs, added them to the pile and stitched the blocks together yesterday and have a nice pink baby blanket.
I also finished up a quilt top that I will donate to the Humane Society for their spring auction.
And finally, I stitched up another pillowcase for family.
So, to answer the question: did she or didn't she, the answer is NO, DAMMIT!
PS Please note that I work in manufacturing, not medicine. No lives were in danger because I was sewing between tests!

I took a snow day from work today. The roads were covered in ice last night, so I decided I was staying home and let the crazy drivers brave the ice!
I have been downstairs quilting since 8:30 am and finished four quilts. Two are Vicki's, one is mine and one for a friend. As soon as I get the binding on mine, I will show you a picture.
I should mention that I only have one more of Vicki's quilts to finish. And, I have two of mine. Then, there were none!!!
Tomorrow is FNSI and my plan is to finish Jen's quilt top. We will see how that turns out?!

Thanks to a post from Betty Lou, I am going to link up with Elizabeth at Pieceful Life "Little Quilt Monday". I found four leftover blocks in my stash when I was looking for something else. I added sashing, a border, quilted and bound it, and voila, a table topper.

Yesterday, I reduced my quilting pile by 8 quilts, although three were just mini and three were just panels that I generally quilt for to the "Linus Project". Vicki, your quilts have moved up the pile!
This morning, I am stitching the binding on and will put them on my hand stitch pile. This afternoon, I will finish two cat pillowcases, one more dog pillowcase (for the humane society crab feed raffle!) and work on Jen's quilt. I am going to stitch some blocks together to see how many more blocks that I need to piece.
I hope that you had a productive week end as well.

My meds haven't kicked in yet so I did some sewing today! Although Jen may not think so, I worked on her quilt today as well as a few other little projects. I made three pillowcases, two which will go to the Humane Society for prizes. I made a second "12 Days of Christmas" and while I was rummaging through a box of fabric, I found four blocks that I stitched together to make a nice little table topper.
Supper is over and I am going to watch some golf, go to bed early and go to work at midnight.
PS No new fabric was bought for my little projects today. All came from my stash!

Thank you all for the big hugs yesterday!
I only played nine holes of golf this morning in the glorious sunshine and 30 degree weather! I haven't been feeling good the last couple of days and today, I sneezed my way through the front nine.
I came home and did a bit of sewing. Ha Ha you say! I worked on Jen's quilt a bit, made a child size pillow case for a friend's son, made my "Farm Girl" sister in law a pillow case and finished my Temecula "12 Days of Christmas" mystery quilt. I changed my block arrangement some because I didn't like the color combos.
I forgot to post my Christmas Quilties: It's a good thing that Sandie takes pictures too!
I had to change pharmacies and have been waiting a couple of weeks for my meds. They finally arrived today so my compulsive sewing may slow down some!

Today is January 4, 2012 and I have already blown my plan to buy fabric ONLY to finish up an existing idea/project.. I stopped by "Cupcakes n Daisies" this morning, saw this quilt and knew that I had to make it!!!
For those who don't know me very well, I am a bit obsessive and last night I dug through my stash and found enough fabric to cut six pillowcases. I also cut a bunch of doggie fabric to make my annual donation to the Humane Society. And, no, I did not work on Jen's quilt.
This will make the third project with Moda's "Countdown to Christmas" (who could resist!) AND I still have some fabric left. I hunted around and found what I needed on Etsy, on sale. I want to thank Thelma, Angela, the Moda Bake Shop, The Sproutz Store and Carries Fabric on Etsy for leading me astray! Just kidding!

I was called into work last night at 6 pm and worked until 3 am. I tried to sleep in this morning, but my two dogs wanted to play about 8 am, so I got up. I ran a few errands and then came home.
Yesterday or Saturday, I watched Nancy Zieman of Nancy's Notion Fame. She was making Dresden blocks and using one of those mini wand irons. It looked like it would work great when making mini quilts and, I decided that I had to have one. Joann's had it for 50% off. YEAH!
I also worked on Jen's quilt. I am about half finished!!
My cousin's wife Julie has leukemia and is in the hospital in Salt Lake City. She is going to be there for about six weeks and will have to have a bone marrow transplant. I saw the cutest pillowcase at the fabric store the other day and decided to make it for her. BUT, I also thought that it might not make her husband too happy, so I made her two!
Here is the first one, is this HOT or what?!! They have a fifth wheel and go camping lots!

Julie is also very sassy, so the second one should cover that!! Ha!!
Love you Julie!
I have a feeling that I am going to be making more pillowcases in the near future. I can think of lots of friends who have the need.
