Sunday Afternoon

I think that it was a week or so ago that I asked "Is it fall yet"?  Well...

Small Ghastlie Tote (Sold)

Sunday Morning

It was an absolutely beautiful morning out on the golf course.  80 degrees, a gentle breeze and no tournaments to slow us down!!

I have started a quilt for a member of our extended family.  She finally decided on a black Irish Chain.  I am also using Bella Solids--Stone!  Here is just a small sample of the fabric that I have cut.  It will be beautiful.  I will keep you updated on my progress.

I also started a couple of tote bags but they are much smaller than my Sweetwater tote.  Pictures will follow when finished!

Have a great afternoon.

Lucy's Crab Shack Tote

I stopped at our local "Craft Warehouse" this morning and was a very bad girl!!  One of the many fabrics that I bought was some of "Lucy"s Crab Shack" blue canvas and made this:

Outside Fabric

Inside Fabric with Pocket
I added a "Lucy" label and my name label;  all from the "Sweetwater Label Crew"!

Quiltmaker Magazine

While checking my facebook page today, I came across this:

Quiltmaker Magazine via Kansas City Star Quilts
Help out the folks at Kansas City Star Quilts and get published! Check it out.

www.pickledish.com

Want one of YOUR quilts published in a book?! We’re in need of some quilts to publish in the 8th installment of the My Stars series – and we’re hoping you can help us out!

I went to the site and looked at the blocks and this one popped out at me.

It looks exactly like the quilt that I made for our niece.  So, I sent in a picture!

BOM Rehab

Well, this morning I played golf and missed the call in to work.  But I got my BOM Rehab finished when I got home.

"General's Wives"
I have been working bit by bit on my "Spools" quilt and should have it finished soon.  I have also been dinking around with my pouches but you will have to click on the "Pouches" page to see them.  If you are not interested, then you won't have to look at them in my normal blogs! :)

Tetris #1

I have joined Melissa at Happy Quilting for a Tetris Quilt a Long.  I am using Moda's "Sophie" rather than scraps.  Here is my first block!

Is it Fall Yet?

I know that it is still July but I have a crazy urge to start some fall/halloween projects.  I received my fall "Primitive Quilts and Projects" magazine and love the quilt on the front cover.  I have ordered the background fabric and gone through my stash for fabric.  I am now set to start.  However, I would like to finish my "Spools" quilt first.  Since I am off tomorrow...

BOM Re-hab

I didn't get to play golf this morning, I got called into work.  But I was able to get one block finished of the "General's Wives" BOM.  I was also able to make a small and a larger matching pouch.
General Wives BOM (I am going to have to get my seam ripper out--one square is WRONG!)

PS  We had the best dinner at my sil's Saturday.  She ordered a brisket, pulled pork, and cole slaw from "Hogg Heaven BBG" in downtown Prosser.  Yum, Yum!

Opportunities

No golf today.  There is an all day tournament.  So, this morning I got up and quilted my cousin's quilt!

I also made a dessert and broccoli salad to take to my sil's for supper.  It is her husband's 60th birthday.  Happy Birthday Jim!

I have set a limit on my latest obsession--little pouches.  I got a bargain on zippers on ebay, so when I run out, I will quilt.  Did I mention, that I got 30 zippers of various sizes!!  LOL!

My plan for tomorrow:  play some golf, work on my BOM Re-hab and then, I just don't know!  Relax??

Don't forget, tomorrow is FNSI!

"Spools" Update

I worked a bit on my quilt before golf this morning and have been plugging away since I got home.  I am hoping that my dogs are old enough that they will quit chewing on the quilts on our bed!

So, what does this mean?  I have decided to replace this quilt with my "Spools" quilt which needs to be a queen size quilt.  I have all of the center of the spools made but need to but need to sew the spool top and bottom on.  I have finished three rows of nine blocks each.

Plus, I made another little clutch!

Friday WIP

I thought that I would show you my WIP.  This is a baby quilt kit that I bought a couple of years ago.  I have one more border to sew and then it's off to the pile on the quilter!

2nd:  I had one leftover block from my Free Spirit "Veranda" quilt, so I made a mug rug.  I just need to sew the binding on.

3rd:  I started my "Spool" quilt using "California Girl".  I am ready to sew the corners on the Spool tops.

Hope you have a great Friday.  I will sew some more and then go have lunch with my sister in law!

Look what I just made!  It is something that I wanted to try for some time!  In fact, I made one Wednesday with a too small zipper and with charms that ended up on the inside rather than the outside. So, I used 4 solid pieces while I figured out the pattern!  By the way, I got the pattern from Moda Bakeshop and Kim Sherrod!

My 4th of July Parade

My camera has been replaced and now I can show you what I have been up to!  This past week-end was spent with family in Everett, Washington.  I took over three quilts that I finished for my sister and brought back three quilts.  It seems like I never get ahead!  LOL  My sister and I visited one of her favorite quilt shop.  It is called "Aunt Mary's" and is located in Smokey Point.  I bought two charm packs of Free Spirit's "Veranda".  I just finished a small quilt.

This is a quilt that I started a month or so ago and just finished quilting it.  It took me about 40 hours to complete.  I don't know if the pictures do it justice, but...

I also finished my "Granny Squares", at least the top is finished.  I used "Lovely" from Sandy Gervais.

Next is a little quilt made with a jelly roll that I found while cleaning.  It is small enough to be a table topper.

Yesterday, I got my red, white and blue quilts out of the cupboard and finished decorating the house.  I bought flag napkins and paper plates and have made red, white and blue cookies!  I have a few other quilts in various stages of completion and will show them later!  Have a great and safe 4th of July!!
