Vonda's Christmas Quilt ("Winter's Lane")

I was hoping that the sun would come out today so that I could take a good picture and capture the colors of this quilt.  Well, that is not going to happen.  So I opened the window shutters and turned on the lights!

I was downstairs quilting a couple of small quilts this morning and realized that the "Avalon" quilt that I just finished is just like the one that I made a month ago.  This was was a scrappy quilt with Fig Tree fabric.  I had a good laugh at myself!!

So, I am now going to cut another quilt and watch the Seahawks WIN. WIN, WIN!!!!

Deborah Anne Update!

Deborah Anne is a quilting friend who told me to relax a little more and sit back and smell the coffee!!  So, I made her a little surprise (I forgot to take pictures, so she did!!).

Christmas Vacation

I have been off, relaxing, the last week!  I have done a little baking, cooking cleaning, and getting rid of unnecessary trash that I have accumulated in my sewing room and downstairs.  I have also been doing a little sewing, nothing big mind you but using kits and fabric that I find as I clean!

"Pieces of My Heart Pattern", Larger than Life"

Temeculta Kit

"Frosted Memories" Scraps

"A Little of This and That" using "Avalon"

I also made some "surprises" for Deborah Anne but forgot to take pictures.  She will send me some when her little package arrives!  Hee Hee!

It is once again time to think about cooking some supper.  So, "high ho, high ho, it's off to work I go"  Will show you pics of my cousins quilt and shams tomorrow!

Christmas Quilt #5!!

My quilting friend Deborah Anne told me that I need to relax more!  So yesterday while I was trying to straighten up my sewing room, I found a baggie of 2 1/5 squares of Sweetwater's "Countdown to Christmas".  I couldn't resist, so here is Christmas Quilt #5 (oh by the way, I still have several fat quarters and a jelly roll)  And I was finished by noon, and then made some White Chocolate Cranberry Scones!

Today, I will do some relaxing down in the dungeon, finishing my cousin's quilt, just for a start!!

Don't Forget The Giveaway!

I got up this morning to a forecast of snow!  Ha, I laughed as we fooled the weatherman.  However, by the time I got my chores done and headed to the post office, it was snowing.  Now, 6 hours later, it is 41 degrees.  Go figure!!

I am busily working on another quilt for my cousin.  She wanted a Christmas quilt for her guest bed.  I am making it with Moda's "Winter's Lane" and hoping that I don't run out of jelly roll strips because I can't find any at my usual quilt shops!!!!

Just wanted to remind every one that the drawing for a table runner is Monday.  All you have to do is tell me which of my four Christmas quilts that you like the best!

Christmas Quilt #4 Aspen Frost

Good Sunday Morning!  It is half time of the Seahawk game so I ran outside to take pictures of Christmas Quilt #4.  I used Moda's "Aspen Frost"!

I was up this morning at 5 am and made my sister's favorite shortbread cookies!  I packaged up three boxes, my sister's, my son's and step-daughter's and mailed them off.  So, I have pretty much finished my Christmas baking and sewing.  Although, I am making a Christmas quilt for my cousin!

Since all four Christmas quilts are finished, it is your turn.  Pick your favorite and I will enter your name in a drawing for either a Christmas table topper, or a summer table topper.  I will hold the drawing on Monday December 23, 2013!

On Blitzen! Christmas #2

I was hoping that it would warm up enough outside that I could take some nice pictures!  It is now up to 15 degrees!  Here are picks of my newest finished Christmas Quilt.  The fabric is Moda's "Blitzen".  It is quilted in a Baptist Fan motif!

I will be down in the dungeon for a couple of hours quilting my last Christmas quilt!!

Good Friday Morning! Christmas Quilt #1

Happy Happy Friday!  This means my three day week-end is here!  I finished sewing the binding on a Christmas quilt last night.  It is flannel backed and kept me very warm while stitching.  The temp at bedtime was 10 degrees.  Brrrrr!!

I have my chores finished and am headed to the dungeon for a while to quilt another Christmas quilt.  Then, off to the hairdresser's.  Do you give your hairdresser something for Christmas?  I usually do, either baked goods or a table topper!

Wednesday Preview!

How is your crafting day going?  I took the day off and slept in until 5 am.  After watching a little golf and reading the morning paper, I finished decorating the tree, did a load of laundry, and made a double batch of pumpkin bread.  I sat down at my sewing machine at 7 am and worked on a quilt called "Louisa's Attic" from this months McCalls Quilting.  Here is what I have finished so far. All the blocks are complete and two rows sewn together.  I have one more row to add and then wait for some border fabric to arrive.  I used up a bunch of my Fig Tree fabric.  I know that it isn't a Christmas quilt, but one goes where the spirit moves!

Last night I finished sewing on the binding of a little table runner.  I used Moda's Wintergreen!

To wrap up the afternoon, I went to the doctor and got a clean bill of heath.  No issues, just my annual check up!  I have some homemade mac and cheese in the oven and some salmon fillets ready to bake in about a half an hour.

It's back to work tomorrow, and then the week end is mine!!

Busy, Busy Week-end!

As much as I hate work right now, I am happy to be going back tomorrow.  I have been down in the dungeon for two days and my feet and back are killing me.  Not only was I quilting:  a baby quilt, a friend's quilt, my sister's quilt, two table runners and one of my Christmas quilt, but I was looking for a bag of Kate Spain's "12 Days of Christmas" and had to tear my stash room, my sewing room and quilting room apart.  I even called my sister to see if I had given the bag to her (No)!  I also put the Christmas tree up, but will wait until tomorrow during the Seahawk game to decorate it!  Whew!!

My friend's husband was just here to pick up her quilt but I can show you the baby quilt and one runner that I finished.

Baby quilt, made with a Bridesmaid dress!
I did not hit any of the big sales this week-end but did some grocery shopping about nine am Friday and pretty much had the store to myself!  My golf buddy called and booked us a tee time yesterday so I was able to get a little fresh air.  The ground was so frozen, that my balls went really far!!

I need to clear off the dining room table so I can square of up quilt and finish getting supper ready.  I made a big pot of red beans and rice--yum yum!
