Tradewinds Finished!

I just pulled my Tradewinds from the dryer and went outside to take pictures.  The pattern is really called "Impromptu" by Rachel Griffith.

I love this quilt!!!

Monday Monday

I was up early this morning, practicing for tomorrow (back to work!).  Our tee time was not until ten o'clock, so I got a little sewing in.  I sewed the borders on two quilts and then started 6 more Courthouse steps.  (Total = 24)

After golf, I came home and finished the Courthouse Steps, made a pasta salad and then started on a kit by Kate Spain that I bought a few years ago.  It made a nice 42" square table topper!

Meds update:  I quit taking a new prescription for my RLS because I wasn't getting any sleep.  I have another Doc appointment in June, so will take my old meds (obsessive behavior) until then!

Now, it's off to the showers and then to start supper.

Week-end Wrap-up

Oh, boy, I hate this thought, but it is back to work on Tuesday!  I have thoroughly enjoyed my vacation.  I love sitting at the computer with several cups of coffee and take a tour through blogland.

So, to wrap-up the weekend, I finished my flimsy from Aunt Reen's Quilt Along.  I used Moda's "Punctuation".

I took the leftover blocks and stitched up a quick baby quilt.  I am pretty sure that I have some more fabric from this line, that I can sew a border on, before quilting!

And, while looking for some fabric yesterday, I found several little nine patches leftover from my Chippewa quilt and made a little table topper.

Rather then start something new, I think that I am finished for the day.  I may go make some cookies!

PS  I made blueberry, white chocolate scones and cowboy bar cookies!!

2nd Attempt at a Little Twister

Good afternoon, here is my second attempt at a mini twister.  I think that it turned out better!!?  I missed the part in the directions about adding a border.  And, I think your fabric choices will make a big difference!

See you tomorrow after golf.

Happy Friday Everyone

I just wanted to check in and show you the cute little project that I worked on today.  It is called "Itty Bitty Primitive Pinwheels" by Lisa Bongean.  The pattern includes a 1.5" template and the finished "quilt" is 10 square inches.  I am going to try another one with darker, earthier colors.  I think it might be easier to see the pinwheels with a different fabric.  Will see...

I also worked on Doreen's quilt along and should have the top done tomorrow after golf!  Have a great Memorial Week-end!

Hugs!

Flying Geese

First things first:  I played golf today in Yakima in the pouring rain!  It was fun but not so fun!  Plus, I am POOPED!

Second, when I saw this fabric, I knew that I had to have it even though it took a while to find the right pattern.  I think it's perfect!  The pattern is called "Flight Fancies" and can be found it the May/June 2013 Quilt it...Today.

What do you think?

"Sweet Pea"

Ha, I didn't tell you that I am on vacation this week.  I have been dinking around today.  I made two more shoulder bags because when I finished the first one, I noticed that the print was upside down, not very professional!!  LOL.  Anyway, I can't show you a picture because it is for a blogging friend.

I sewed the binding to the quilt that I was custom quilting.  I should have it finished by Wednesday.  Tomorrow, I am playing in a golf tournament in Yakima.

And, finally, while dinking around, I decided to make Kathleen Tracy's "Sweet Pea".  I kept looking at the directions as I sewed but made a couple of placements different than Kathleen.    Oh WeLL!!

How is Your Saturday Going?

Good afternoon, how is your Saturday going?  I have been a bit busy sewing, quilting and baking.  No golf today as there was two tournaments and we were between them.  We knew it was going to be very slow going, so we took the day off.  Once again, I have decided to do some custom quilting on one of my quilts.  It is going slow as well.  I made a cute little shoulder bag out of some Moda Sweetwater Reunion canvas and used some pink fabric for the lining.  It is rather small--only 13" x 14" but, rather cute!!

I sewed some borders and bindings on some works in progress and then decided that enough is enough and put my sewing away.

I still had plenty of time before having to start supper, so I made some heavenly apple cinnamon bread.  It will be a great dessert.

Talk to you tomorrow for Scrappy Sunday!

Scrappy Sunday

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers out there!

I don't know how it could have been a better day!  I played golf this morning and shot a pretty good score.  When I got home, I sat down at my sewing machine and went to work. I sewed the binding to two quilts, cut lots and lots of 1" strips and started "Small Steps", a heirloom courthouse steps quilt created by Jo Morton.  Here is my first six blocks, all of which are 5" square.  I only need to make 138 more!

I also cut and pressed 160 HST for a quilt along over at Aunt Reen's Place!  I am using "Punctuation" layer cake (another stash buster!)

And best of all, I watched Tiger kick Cry Baby Sergio's butt!  I hope that your mother's day was as good as mine!!

Progress

I was able to spend about 90 minutes downstairs working on my Tradewinds quilt.  I should have it finished by tomorrow night.

I took a couple of pictures to show you one of my baby quilt flimsies and my Gentle Art flimsy.

Baby Quilt "On The Boardwalk" using "Backyard Baby"

Gentle Art using Prairie Paisley !!
I also tried a new RLS med last night and it made things WORSE. My legs were jerking so bad that I got up and tore the patch off.  Tonight it's back to the old meds.

Don't forget to sign up for my giveaway.  The drawing is Friday afternoon!

Giveaway!

I was going to have a giveaway a month or so ago for 100 followers.  Then, one person unfollowed me, WHAT??  I now have 100 followers, so if they stay until the end of the week, I will pick a winner on Friday, May 10th.

I think that I will give my "Simply Charming" quilt called "Teresa's Treasure".  Since I am not sleeping very well, give me a sleep remedy that works for you.

Give Away Mini Quilt

Sunday, May 5, 2013

Hello, My Name is Sandy!

At last report, I was working on quilting my "Tradewinds" quilt.  It is taking me forever and quite frankly I am bored to death with it!  So, instead of quilting, I have been sewing up a storm--five baby quilts, a pretty black and yellow flying geese and my Schnibbles for May, "Gentle Art".  Now having said that, the wind has been blowing here forever and flimsies take crappy pictures.  I am sorry to say, that you are going to have to wait until they are quilted.

My doctor has been trying a new RLS drug on me to try to eliminate some of my obsessive behavior.  So far, the only thing that has been reduced in my sleep, and right now I feel very pissy!  The only good news is that "Call The Midwife" is on tonight.

I will try to get my "Tradewinds" done this week, so I will have some thing to show you soon!

Hugs!
