July "Prairie Children and Their Quilts"

I finally finished my "Signature Quilt" from Kathleen Tracy's "Prairie Children and Their Quilts" sew along!  I know, that is a mouthful!  I had the top finished for a couple of weeks but just got around to the quilting last night.  Thank you Tilda from Huckleberry Stitches for hosting this monthly sew along!

I still need to throw it in the wash to remove my markings.  I will find out what our August project is tomorrow!

It's Beginning to Look alot like Christmas!

I just finished a Christmas quilt for a little girl who loves horses!  I made a matching pillowcase as well,  Most of the fabric is Riley Blake's "Roundup"!

Her little brother is going to get a "Transformer" quilt!

Flying Geese!

I have wanted to make a simple Red and White Quilt for some time.  I can now cross it off of my "bucket list".  I bought the red 5" squares from Quilt Taffy last year.

Before golf this morning, I thought that I would finish cutting the sashing for a quilt that I am making for a friend at work.  It will be a wonderful Christmas present for her daughter.  I SUDDENLY realized that I had cut it all at 2.25" rather than 2.5".  I just had to trim all the finished blocks by a quarter of an inch  and everything will be fine??!

"Star Table Topper"

I was looking through a stack of quilting magazines and books and found a book with several cute projects. The book is called "Completely Charming" from Whistlepig Creek Productions. So far, I have made three table toppers, one mini and one quilt.  Only one is completely finished but will show you two of three toppers plus the mini!

I think the fabric is by Laundry Basket

"Market Day"

Did you participate in Pam Buda's Sew Along "Market Day".  I love her sew alongs because they are easy and if you miss a week, it is easy to catch up!  All my pictures are crooked today?!

Sew, my machine and I are zooming along this morning.  I am making a "Disappearing Hourglass", from Missouri Quilt Company.

Vacation!

Vacation you ask?!  You are retiring in 15 working days and you are taking vacation,  YES, I am!  And, I am enjoying it.  Plus, it is good practice for things to come!  I have been off since July 3, 2014.  I stayed home for the 4th and went to Everett on Saturday morning to deliver some quilts to my sister and her friend,  My son and daughter in law met us for lunch and then my sister and I hit some of our favorite shops, including "Aunt Mary's" in Smokey Point,  Aunt Mary is offering a beginning embroidery class on August 9th.  I am thinking of going to get a refresher!

The first finished quilt is called "Lucky Stars" , which can be found on Quilt Story!

The next finish is "True Blue" from Minick and Simpson.

And finally, although a bit late, is my Red, White and Blue Pinwheel.

As usual, I have several projects going and will show you some pics when finished.  Oh, my sewing machine was getting louder and louder, sounding like a thrashing machine.  I took it apart and of course, it was loaded with lint.  I vacuumed and oiled it.  It now hums!

Oops, the pics don't really show the quilting on the first two quilts.  I think that I need close ups!

I re-connected  with some cousins on my mother's side of the family yesterday.  There had been an obituary in the Bellingham paper listing someone with my name and birth day and thought that I had passed away.  I am so happy to have "talked" to them.  Thanks Robin for finding me again.
