Holiday Sewing
I didn't think that I would have time to do any sewing during the holidays, but DH's hip replacement has been a piece of cake. Very little pain and, he pushes himself and refuses offers of help! He had his staples removed this morning.
The first quilt was made with Bonnie and Camille's "Vintage Modern" that I got a couple of years ago. I made a pattern called "Lattice and Chains", which can be found on Moda Bake Shop.
The second quilt is a small lap quilt. I used Moda's "Modern Background--Ink". I am going to add a border as soon as the fabric arrives.
I got up this morning and worked on some simple projects--potholders and sewing the binding on a Christmas table topper. I cut some fabric for a new modern quilt called "City Park". I am going to have to take a trip to the fabric store for a couple more colors of solids.
I have also been thinking about going for a walk. With any luck, that urge will go away before too long!!

4th and Final Quilt, DH is home!
I finished sewing the binding on the 4th quilt prepped for DH's surgery just as the doctor came in and said that we could go home. The fabric is an Art Gallery collection called "Indian Summer". I loved it from the fist moment that I saw it.
We got home just as the Seahawk game got started and DH was up, down, up, down. He could not settle in. He was trying to decide where he could sit, where he could walk; what was the easiest way to get up. Finally, after feeding him some dinner he and the dogs have quieted down and I can relax!
I don't know when I think that it is safe for me to disappear into my sewing room, sew, Merry Christmas!

More Finishes!
First, surgery went well. DH finished first round of exercises and promptly went back to sleep.
I finished sewing the binding on two quilts before he got out of recovery, sew I have been trying to keep busy twiddling my thumbs!
The fabric is Janet Claire's "Nocturne". The pattern is from "Quilt Dads"
Will have more pics tomorrow and DH has to get up and walk!

Absolutely Thrilled!!
I just finished a quilt for a friend's daughter for Christmas and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. The fabric is Tanya Whelan's "Lulu". The pattern is called "Diamond Alley" by Sassafras Lane Designs. I struggled with it a bit and waited over two weeks for a 12" 60 degree ruler to arrive to cut the blocks.
DH is having hip replacement surgery in the morning. I have been prepping for a week or sew. I have four quilts ready to have the binding stitched on and will do sew during the long hours at the hospital.
Until next time, happy sewing!!

Christmas Projects
Good Wednesday morning! We had about three inches of snow last night and I probably won't be leaving the house today. I don't mind driving in the snow, but I took care of my errands yesterday. I have finished a couple of Christmas Table Toppers and am in the process of quilting some client's projects.
I am working on a couple of projects with Janet Claire's "Nocturne". It is sooooo beautiful. I love her fabrics!
Sew, will catch up with you later.

"Summer In The Park" HUH?
I finished up two quilts this week-end. One is called "Summer In The Park" by MSQC. I made it with a Honeybun called "Aviary". It is an old collection but after watching Jenny's video, I knew that I had the perfect fabric! I need to sew the binding on, but rather than do that...
I sewed a border on a QOV for my friend in Montana and made a scrappy long table topper. People are always asking me for a long topper and this one is ~58". I just have to quilt and bind it.
My son and daughter in law are coming over for Thanksgiving, sew I have been doing a little extra cleaning every day. By the time they get here, the house should be ready for company. LOL!

Bits and Pieces
I have been finishing up bits and pieces of projects this morning. I had to fix the binding on two quilts and then listed them on my Etsy Shop. I dug out the backing for a quilt of the Colorado Avalanche for a friend. This quilt is next on the quilter, sew I can get it finished by tomorrow, and off to it's owner.
Last night I finished quilting a Judy Niemeyer quilt for a friend. Will get it shipped off today.
I think that there is a saying: "physicians heal thyself". I brought DH home from the hospital today as his body healed itself--no surgical intervention!! He is settling in and I am back to sewing!

Quilt Retreat
I had to come home early from my quilt retreat, family emergency. But I finished one of my projects or so I thought until I re-read the directions. I need to put borders on the sides. The pic is a little dark but will show again after it is quilted!
Back to check on my patient!
PS You can find out more about the Snowflake Quilt-Along here!

New Finishes
The golfing season is winding down, sew I have been catching up with some of my quilting. The first is a Christmas quilt made with Moda's "Blitzen". Sorry, I don't remember the pattern, but it was in one of the quilting magazines last year.
The second quilt is made with Moda's "Whitewashed Cottage" and is perfect for a little girl!
I am heading out on Thursday for a quilt retreat with one of the local guilds. It is going to be FUN!

Friday WIP+
Good Friday morning, I am in the process of sewing down the blades of my Halloween Dresdan Quilt, and listening to "The Cleaner" on Audio Books. I am also half finished with the binding on my hexie Halloween Quilt!
Once the blades are sewn on, I can move down to the dungeon to do some quilting! Later Gators!

Hey, It Is Fall, and The Weather is Beautiful!
Have you decorated your house for Halloween? I have done the bathrooms and the front porch but not much else. I just fixed myself a nice Mango Italian Soda, yummy. This summer was the first time that I had one and was immediately addicted! I have a counter full of syrups and a frig full of club soda.
I first saw this quilt on Pinterest and fell in love with it. I did not realize that it was a disappearing nine patch but wait until you see it. I made it smaller, more of a baby quilt size and quilted it with spider webs!
I have also been playing around with Ball Jars. I made two "pumpkins" and a couple of pin cushions.
Enjoy your afternoon, until later...

Injury Update!
My knee does feel a lot better, thanks to Advil! But I am not going to golf next week. I am going to try to do some quilting tomorrow morning. I have a few customers wondering where their quilts are!
I spent the morning watching the Seahawks lose and making another Twister Christmas Wreath. I am going to have to check the first one that I made because I thing that there was another row of white all around. I know I followed directions but...
I have to tell you that I finally found a short cut for shredding big zucchini for baking. I peeled them, cut them into chucks, and froze them. Then, yesterday morning, I pulled a package out of the freezer and used my "panpered chef" chopper to chop into small, small pieces.. I used to spend hours chopping zucchini with my food processor, WHAT A MESS, and IT TOOK FOREVER!
I made two loaves of lemon zucchini bread, one for now and one for the quilt retreat. Oh, and by the way, I finished my scrappy "French General" quilt yesterday and it is sitting on the quilter!

Golf Injury?!
I played in a golf tournament this last week-end and "tweaked" my knee on the last hole Saturday. I warmed up Sunday morning without pain, sew I figured that I was good to go. By the end of the round, I was almost in tears my knee hurt so bad.
I have stayed home this week and spent some time with my sewing machine. I haven't been able to do any quilting, just sewing. Yesterday, I used up two partial jelly rolls of some "French General" collections and made a jelly roll race quilt. BUT, I didn't like it, sew I have been cutting it up into 2.5" strips, making a 25 patch. I like the look much better! (It's a good thing because how can I cut the strips smaller?) This is only four blocks but I like the scrappy look.
I joined a quilt guild last month and we/they are going on a four day retreat the first of November. Yeah, another vacation. However, this time I will have to make one meal! LOL

Home Again
Hi, we are home again from quilt retreat. Although, I swear that they used to last a day longer?! We hugged new and old friends upon our arrival, set up our machines and started sewing away. We had a fat quarter exchange and I made project bags with mine and returned them to the person who gave me the fat quarter. Here are a couple of the other things that I made.
I am waiting for some border fabric before I show you the quilt made with the blocks in the topper.
Until next time, GO HAWKS!

10 Days Later
Ha, it has only been 10 days since I last posted. In those 10 days, I got beat in a match play golf tournament, got my canopy picked up and blown away (with weights and quilts hanging on) while at 3 Eyed Fish Farmers Market Sunday and have been catching up on my quilting (including 2 of my sisters!)
This morning, for the second time, I fasted and headed to the lab for a blood draw, only to find that my name was not in the system. I walked down the hall to my practioner's office and the orders that she had written for me were different than she had written in her files. Sew, after a quick stop at the store, I stopped and had breakfast with Ronald McDonald!
I sewed the binding on a finished quilt and then made three zippered project bags. I used a pattern from www.crazymomquilts.blogspot.com.
Last night I went to my guild meeting. The guest lecturer was "Melinda Bula". She is not only a very talented quilt artist but is very very funny!

Wednesday Show and Tell
Good morning!
I found this darling quilt ("Rainbow Migrating Geese") on Pinterest from "Sew, Create, It". I used Moda's "Lakeside Gatherings" and made a small baby quilt.
Here are a couple more mini quilts (I love these for gifts!):
Another birthday has come and gone and I don't look a day over 50! 60!
