Inspiration
Yesterday while traveling through blogland, I stopped in at Sandie Kaye's blog. She is a very creative and imaginative fabric artist. I have participated in some of her "Quilties" swaps where she has on occasion gotten me to think outside the box. So last night I came across a paper pieced heart and decided this morning to get my creative juices flowing. Here is what I came up with:
I have lots of scraps, and will try again! Now, it is downstairs to do some quilting!

Fun Day Thursday
I had a long day yesterday. Was up at five and left the house at seven for the three hour drive to Wenatchee to the Gamill Repairman Andrew. (Andrew's Vac and Sew). He did a marvelous job on my machine. But, I didn't get to head home until 4 pm. I hate driving in the dark especially on a two lane road with lots of traffic. Thank the lord that it was not icy or snowing! I got home about 6:45 pm, took a shower and crashed in my chair for an hour and then off to bed.
This morning I did my chores, got groceries and came home and quilted for three hours. It was fun and easy on a machine that works great. I finished up several little projects, and loaded my "Starry Eyes" onto the machine.
Before leaving the house I fit into a size smaller pair of jeans! I am not dieting but have cut down all all the bad carbs out there. I got a box of my favorites, "See's Nuts and Chews" for Christmas and it is still sealed!!
We still have snow on the greens at the golf course, so I will be sewing and quilting for the next several days. See you later!

"Spools"
I finally finished my "Spools" top this afternoon. I didn't have too much work left so it was fairly easy to finish up. I used "California Girl". I am kind of thinking about adding one more row so that DH and I aren't fighting over the covers. That would make it about 90 inches across and will still fit on the quilter. Since my quilter is not working, I have a few days, or a week to decide.
Blitzen
I started this quilt yesterday morning and just finished the top, except for the border and I had to order some fabric. I found the pattern in December 2012's "Quilter's World" on page 38. I knew right from the first time that I saw the pattern that I was going to make it. I used one "Blitzen" layer cake and almost one white jelly roll. Mine is considerably larger than the pattern. I can't wait to put it on my bed! I am also going to make some pillowcases and shams to match!
PS I got my "California Girl" jelly roll yesterday in the mail. This afternoon my project is to finish my "Spools" quilt.

"All The Stockings Were Hung by The Chimney"
"All The Stockings Were Hung by The Chimney with care..." Since no one is coming home for Christmas, this means that I have a lot of time to catch up on my many projects! Today, I as able to finish a mini quilt from Temecula quilts called "Four Patch". I haven't decided if I will wait until I get my quilter fixed or do a simple design on my sewing machine. Before starting something else, I am off to the kitchen to make some yummy cookies!
By the way, I am going to Wenatchee on the 27th to take my quilter to the repair shop!

Good News/Bad News
The good news: I had an email at 4 am this morning from Madame Samm, letting me know that I had won "1,000 Mizvahs" by Linda Cohen and $150 worth of Pellon products. Aren't I lucky!!
The bad news: I had to order a jelly roll of "California Girl" to finish my "Spools" quilt. I need six more blocks to finish the last row and I couldn't find my stash of fabric. It has to be in my craft room but who knows where! I did get three rows sewn together while watching tv last night.
Thanks again Samm, Pellon and Linda!

Sweetwater's Label Crew
Are you a member of "Sweetwater's Label Crew"? Every month you get a cute pattern and about four labels that you can use for that project or whatever. When I was looking for my "Spools" pattern, I found a project sheet for Halloween Mug Rugs. BUT, I used some leftover "Countdown to Christmas" and made nine little mug rugs. I just need to cut some bias strips and sew the binding on. (Oh, by the way, I also found all of the pieces to my "Spools" quilt!!!)
I also had a few problems with my quilter. It still isn't running right. I had to make a small adjustment but something is still off. I will call Andrew on Tuesday and see what he has to say. I am glad that I was quilting a small project. If I had been working on a big quilt, I would have been very frustrated!

Coin Purses and My Next Project!
Whoa, I woke up this morning sneezing so much that I scared Zeke! Will have to see if I can play 18 holes of golf and what I feel like later. All of my Christmas baking is finished, my house is as decorated as it's going to get, my chores are done, and I wanted to show you a few coin purses that I've made before I ship them. I have also decided on my next project. I am going to finish my "Spools" quilt. I think that I only have one, maybe two rows to finish. I will have to dig it out before I know how much work is left!! LOL

Yahoo, a Christmas Finish
Hello friends, I am excited. I finally finished my "Starry Eyed" quilt. I so love this fabric! I know, if you have seen one Starry Eyed quilt you have seen them all. But, this one is mine!
I played golf this morning and then came home and finished up my baking. Tomorrow, I have three packages to pack with goodies and get in the mail on Monday.
I don't know which project that I will start next, but I will let you know!

Starry Eyed
I am finally starting my "Starry Eyed" quilt using Moda's "Countdown to Christmas". I think that I have enough fabric to make two quilts but will probably make an extra large queen size. I have all of the pieces cut and have started sewing some together.
I played golf this morning and ended up loosing 10 cents to my buddy Frieda! I was down 40 cents after the first nine and then played my way even until the last hole. It was fun to get outside for awhile.
I have some ham and bean soup simmering on the stove and plan to make some more cookies tonight. Yum Yum lemon shortbread.

Gratitude!
I am so grateful to friends and acquaintances for helping me today finish my friend's quilt. Deb and Mary at Quiltmania in Richland, Washinton squeezed me in on their quilter so I could finish the half row! I am grateful to Andrew from the Sew and Vac shop in Wenatchee for giving me directions with pictures to re-align my needle holder. When I quilted over some pins, I jammed the holder out of whack!! I am grateful for my DH, who held the flashlight, nuts, bolts, screwdrivers etc. He was a tremendous help to me today! I am also grateful for friends that offered me help.

Quilter Dilemma Update
I was able to rent some quilter time tomorrow, so I will at least be able to finish up my friend's anniversary quilt! I am also in touch with a repair man from Wenatchee. I am so relieved!

Help, anyone in the Tri-Cities, Washington
I quilted up a storm Friday (6 quilts) and my fabric to finish my last customers quilt came yesterday. After golf today, I started quilting and doing fine until the last row. I ran over a pin on my canvas and I think that I knocked my machine out of time. I tried to read the directions and figure it out but no luck. Do you know anyone here that could fix it for me???!!!
