Saturday Line Up

No golf today!  My partner is too sick to come out and play.  Sew, I have spent the morning making another Valentine Quilt.  Jenny, at Missouri Quilt Co had a new tutorial released yesterday called "Love Notes".  I used my last charm pack of "Surrounded by Love".  It measures ~36 x 36".

I have also finished two more "Snap Purses".  I am trying to make a larger one with multiple pockets to store all of my sewing gear when I am traveling.  Maybe another day.

We are going to the 15th annual Humane Society Crab Feed this afternoon.  Yummy!  I will let you know my next project later.

Monday Design Wall

I am trying to stay away from the cupboards so I don't do any snacking tonight!!  I have had this terrible urge to EAT all day!??

I have been working on a scrappy Granny Squares.  I debated about using black scraps or bella solids "stone" for my sashings.  I finally decide to use the black scraps so that I wouldn't have to wait for a fabric order.  Let me know what you think!

Oh, yeah, GO HAWKS!

Friday Countdown?!

It is Friday and so far I have had a busy day with more to come.  While vacuuming, I opened up my sewing machine and sucked out all the dust and then oiled it!   I got my chores down and ran to the doctor's office to use their digital scales.  I am down 28 lbs since the first of November.  My friend from work and I have challenged each other to loss as much as we can until March 1.  Although, the ultimate goal is a healthier lifestyle!   Each week, if we have lose, we kick in $5 and if we have gained, we kick in $10. We will take our "winnings' and have a spa day!

I finished sewing the binding on my little Valentine Twist-it topper.

Last night, I finished up a little table topper made with "Little Black Dress" scraps.  I did have to buy some more Bella Solids to be able to finish the topper and Granny Squares!   I am planning on making another Granny Squares quilt with the rest of my black strips.

I belong to a small group of ladies who are just beginning to sew.  I made a sample "Snap Purse" for our next meeting.  I will help with the instructions, sort of a roving instructor!!

I have a "Dell" computer technician coming this afternoon to fix my computer.  I get the blue screen of death about once or twice an hour AND, the computer is still under warranty!!  I need to spend a little time copying my files to my flash drive.

It's Prosser Farmer's Market tomorrow, golf on Sunday, and then the Seahawk Championship game Sunday afternoon.  Until, next time, thanks for stopping by!!!

Who Remembers This Fabric?

I was flipping through the new "McCall's Quick Quilts" and found the pattern"Modern Mix".  Let me tell you that I knew which of my fabric stash was going to be used in this quilt!!  Can you guess the fabric?  I don't remember the year but it is Moda's Sweetwater "Authentic"!  I love it!

Valentine's Day Approaching!

I started this little table runner before golf this morning.  We only played nine holes because of the wind.  Last night there were wind gusts up to 65 miles per hour.  Anyway,  I used a pattern off the MBS called "Candy Squares".  I simply cut 2.5" squares from a charm pack, "Surrounded by Love".

Darn it, the Niners just won their game.  See you next Sunday.  Go Hawks!

Week's Finishes!

I have some work to do before the Seahawk game but I wanted to show you what I have been up to.I finished sewing the binding of a Christmas table runner.  I used a charm pack called "Jingle All The Way" (I think that was the name?!)

I also finished a Valentine flimsy.  I used some French General from my stash. The first pic is of the layout.  All the squares were 3.5 inches and cut with a 2.25" template.  The second pic is the finished flimsy, CUTE!!

This morning while dinging around on Ebay, I bought a better camera.  So Just maybe, I will get better pictures than the last post!

Baby, It Is Cold Outside!!

It has been way too cold for golfing since early December.  Therefore, I have been spending a lot of time in my sewing room and down in the dungeon!  Mostly though, I have been sewing on bindings and using up some of my stash!!  This first little quilt is by Buttermilk Basin and is called "Hint of Fall Quilt".  I think that the fabric that is used is from one of "The Collection For a Cause" collections. (I had both of these flimsies pressed before I went outside, I swear!!)

The second quilt is a tutorial from Missouri Quilt Company and is made from a layer cake called "Farmer's Market".  I didn't really like the fabric when I got it but I think that it worked great with this pattern.

Sew, the rest of my day will be spent watching football and puttering in my sewing room.

PS  The Quilt Police have been trying to tell me that I need to take pictures of my quilts outside, for the natural light.  I don't think that these pics today turning out very well.  Maybe, after they are quilted!!!!

Vonda's Christmas Quilt ("Winter's Lane")

I was hoping that the sun would come out today so that I could take a good picture and capture the colors of this quilt.  Well, that is not going to happen.  So I opened the window shutters and turned on the lights!

I was downstairs quilting a couple of small quilts this morning and realized that the "Avalon" quilt that I just finished is just like the one that I made a month ago.  This was was a scrappy quilt with Fig Tree fabric.  I had a good laugh at myself!!

So, I am now going to cut another quilt and watch the Seahawks WIN. WIN, WIN!!!!

Deborah Anne Update!

Deborah Anne is a quilting friend who told me to relax a little more and sit back and smell the coffee!!  So, I made her a little surprise (I forgot to take pictures, so she did!!).

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Christmas Quilt #5!!

My quilting friend Deborah Anne told me that I need to relax more!  So yesterday while I was trying to straighten up my sewing room, I found a baggie of 2 1/5 squares of Sweetwater's "Countdown to Christmas".  I couldn't resist, so here is Christmas Quilt #5 (oh by the way, I still have several fat quarters and a jelly roll)  And I was finished by noon, and then made some White Chocolate Cranberry Scones!

Today, I will do some relaxing down in the dungeon, finishing my cousin's quilt, just for a start!!

Don't Forget The Giveaway!

I got up this morning to a forecast of snow!  Ha, I laughed as we fooled the weatherman.  However, by the time I got my chores done and headed to the post office, it was snowing.  Now, 6 hours later, it is 41 degrees.  Go figure!!

I am busily working on another quilt for my cousin.  She wanted a Christmas quilt for her guest bed.  I am making it with Moda's "Winter's Lane" and hoping that I don't run out of jelly roll strips because I can't find any at my usual quilt shops!!!!

Just wanted to remind every one that the drawing for a table runner is Monday.  All you have to do is tell me which of my four Christmas quilts that you like the best!

Ta Ta!
