Hey, I finally finished a quilt!

Yes, it is true!  It has been quilted and the binding sewn on!  I even got a picture before the sun went behind some very black clouds.  The fabric is Moda's "Coquette".

OK, It's Monday, But, I had a Great Week-end!

It's Monday but I had a great crafting weekend!  I went to my sister in law's house with a group of crafty women and learned how to felt wool and make a penny rug.  Right now, I can't find it so there is not a picture--oh, darn!  During the afternoon, I went to an Alpaca Farm and learned to crochet a rug with Alpaca wool!  It isn't perfect but I love the colors and I had a great time!

Again this fall, my sister and I will be attending Quilt Taffy's retreat in McCall, Idaho.  This year's theme is "Super Girl Edition".  I found  some fabric with an appropriate theme and made a round basket, a rectangle basket and a coin purse!

I played golf Sunday morning and then spent some time in the dungeon and just have to sew the binding on it!  I will show you a picture when I am finished.  Until then, "Happy Trails to You"!

Wednesday Progress!

I have been working on my string quilt and have completed 8 blocks.  I think that I have enough "strings" to make several dozens!

There's a quilt show in town this weekend.  Maybe I will see you there!

Finally, A Fresh Start?!

I had a very busy and profitable weekend at the local Vintage/Antique Show Friday and Saturday.  I was able to sell some of my quilts and baskets.  But, at times it is very boring, if not for friends that were also there.

Yesterday started out windy and cold but my golfing buddy and I toughed it out and played all 18 holes.  I stopped and bought groceries on the way home, and then ordered Chinese food for dinner!

What I wanted to tell you is that I finally started my string quilt.  I cut my foundation fabric and completed one block.  Truthfully, that is all the energy that I had.

Oh, and by the way, I bought a Singer Featherweight at the show!  The seller was local, so I will bring it home on Thursday!  Yippee!

Oh, Oh, Another Obsession?!

It is 7 pm and still light out.  How will I get to sleep?  Ha!  I saw a cute little zipper coin purse/bag at "Sweetwater's" etsy shop.  Sew, after supper, I made two (just for a start, I need more zippers!)

You can tell the size better beside a basket!

Oh yeah, and two chicken baskets!
Well, I am having fun and that's the name of the game!

You Can Call Me Mz Tinker Bell!

You Can Call Me Mz Tinker Bell!  Why?  Because I have not been seriously working on any quilts but am "TINKERING" around!!

More baskets:

And I tried to make a couple of fabric backed plates!

I also "caught" the nasty cold going around!  But I will be playing golf this morning.  I think that I need the fresh air!

Week End Progress

How has your week end been going?  It was snowing and raining this morning, sew no golf.  I did make some blueberry, white chocolate scones, and some cranberry, white chocolate ones.  I bought blueberries at the farmer's market yesterday with the full intent of making scones!

I am sort of working on my Happy Quilting quilt along, but as usual, I keep getting distracted with other things.

A fellow vendor at the farmer's market asked me to make a big basket with sheep on it for a baby shower center piece.

Here are a couple more baskets:

I just finished adding ruffles to a dish towel--AWESOME!  The pattern is from "Sweetwater"

I have my sun burned Zebra quilt loaded on the quilter and will work on it after work this week.  Have a good week!

"Monday, Monday, can't trust that day"

Sew, how was your week-end?  I was up early this morning and made another pot holder.  BUT, I don't like how it fits my hand, so that project is OVER!!  Before I played 18 holes of golf this morning, I caught the dogs looking so cute in my chair, that I took their picture!  They think that it is their chair.  They like to look out the front window to see if anyone enters their territory!!

I was home from golf by 10:30 am.  I went down to the dungeon and quilted my little quilts, including my two bow ties, and finished up a lap quilt that I am calling Farmers Market.  You can see them when the binding is all done.  It's chicken enchiladas for dinner and I had better get started.

Oh, I have decided on my next project.  It will be a string quilt.  I have bags and bags of scraps that I am hoping to use up..Scrappy quilts are my theme for the year!

I'll Show You Mine if...

I said that I would show you what I have been working on.  I saw this quilt in the new "Quilts and More".  I used some Moda's "Coquette".  I thought it would be cute for a baby girl.

I also made two small quilts from a pattern that I have wanted to make for some time--bowties, one for me and one for my sister.

Vicki's Favorite Color is Blue!

I managed to get some golf in this morning.  It was cool but sunny!  Let me know what you are working on.

PS  I just finished another little experiment, a heart shaped potholder!  I think that I will have to add a hanging loop to one side.

Star Light Quilt Along Progress

I finished my Star Centers today.  I love the fabric, but probably could have chosen a different collection for the quilt along.  Oh Well!

Clue For The Day: WATCHOUT!

Boy, I think that my hormones are mad at me today.  I have been surly all day.  And, I have eaten four donuts and six cookies!  I think my diet took the day off too.  One of the young gals at work said, "I'm on my period" and that's what I felt like!

Any how, after supper, I will still be working on my hsts!  And hiding in my sewing room.

PS. I changed my retirement day from October 2 to September 2!

Give me a WHOOP WHOOP,  my hsts are all sewn and now just need to be cut, pressed, and trimmed!

HST for my Star Light Star Bright Quilt a Long

I got a bit distracted while working on my HSTs.  Talk about boring!  I took a break and was looking for one thing and found another, sew I made another fabric basket.  It measures about 12" long and 8" deep.  I absolutely love the fabric!!

Unless I can find another distraction, it's back to my HSTs.  I will take a picture of the stack when I'm finished!

PS  I was able to play a little golf today--no snow, no rain, but it got very windy!!

Baby Changing Mat

One of my Prosser Farmer's Market customers is going to be a grandma for the first time.  Her daughter is a germ a phobic and wanted a changing mat that she could stash in her diaper bag.  Sew, this morning, I played a little and came up with this!  I quilted 2 one-yard pieces of fabric, cut it in half and rounded the corners.  Two mats measure ~22" x 29",  It is double sided, rolls up and ties into a nice neat mat!

My Sun Burned Zebra is Finished??

I finished up my black, white and red scrappy quilt when I ran out of some of the fabric.  I am thinking of sewing borders on but am not sure.  I will have to find some more fabric.  I looked for Lakehouse "Annie's Farmhouse" because I like the black with white dots and strawberries.  However, I couldn't find any so will have to decide some time soon if borders go on it or not.  In the mean time, I think it will make a nice lap size quilt with flannel backing!  Let me know what you think, PLEASE!!
