I have been busy!??

Good morning, Yes, I have been a bit busy spending time in the dungeon quilting for some friends.  I was able to finish one of my baby quilts and a couple of table toppers.  I am making boys and girls quilts, receiving blankets and burp cloths since we do not know the sex of the baby YET!!

More Finishes!

I finished up two tops this morning.  I just needed to add a border on one, and replace some odd squares on the other.

I used Holly Taylor's "The Potting Shed" for the first one.  Love the purples!

The second one is a Christmas Quilt using "Under The Mistletoe" and is a queen size.  This will look great on our bed next December.  In fact, I should buy some extra fabric and make two shams!!

Off to get some batting for some Guild quilting!

Stash Busting

I had this block in one of my Pinterest boards and finally decided to make a small quilt.  I dug through my stash and found some M.E. fabric and went to work.

I also finished my "Leap Year" quilt but want to add a border.  I ordered the aqua polka dot from the "Prairie" collection.

Now, while I try to figure out what I am going to fix for dinner, I am going to organize some of my sewing room!  Ha Ha!!

Week End Wrap Up!

I don't have too much to show, just a couple of mini's and my blocks from Aunt Reen's current quilt along.

While wandering around in Pinterest, I saw a cute small (4.5") granny square and decided to make some.  I thought nine and ended up with four!  It takes forever!  It measures ~12 x 12 and will be a birthday present for a friend.

This mini is February's pick for Huckleberry Stitches small quilt along.  This is called "Don't Play With Utensils."

I arranged my blocks for Aunt Reen's quilt along as I thought they should be.  I will find out next Friday the actual placement.

Until next Friday or until I get another project finished!

It is Finished!!

I did not expect to finish the binding and make the shams today but TA DA:

PS  Vicki, your third quilt is on the machine!!

Week End Plans!

It is Friday, raining, and the start of the week end.  But, I am retired, so the "week end" has lost some of it's "specialiness"!!

I have finally finished quilting my cousin's quilt.  I took the pictures on my dining room table where I was trimming off the excess fabric and squaring it up. The fabric is all from Art Gallery.

Zentangle Quilting

Backing
I am making pillow shams and will show you a final picture when all are finished.

Also on the table is a baby quilt.  The pattern is a Sew Emma called "On The Boardwalk".  It is a very easy and quickly goes together.  The fabric is "On The Go" by Robert Kaufman.

Backing
The final quilt is made with "Modern Background Ink" by Zen Chic".  I love it!!  I bought a jelly roll at retreat last September and found the pattern on Pinterest called "To The Point".

That's it for now!

Week End Wrap Up!

My son and daughter in law were up very early this morning and got home about noon.  He wanted to get home before the Seahawks came on.  He is a season ticket holder!

After they left this morning, I cut up fabric to make my cousin a quilt.  They live in Illinois, but winter in Scottsdale.  She wanted a southwest fabric theme.  The fabric is a combination of collections from Art Gallery including:  The Wanderer. Arizona, and Tribal.  The quilt pattern is Star Cakes from Jolly Jabber.

I tried to figure out something that would be marketable when the local farmers markets open in the spring.  Sew, check out my quilted dolly sleeping bag!!  It measures about 14" x 16".  I will probably make a couple of different sizes.  AND, quilt large pieces of fabric on my long arm, rather than using my regular machine--much much faster!

I am going to run, the Seahawk game is on!

Holiday Sewing

I didn't think that I would have time to do any sewing during the holidays, but DH's hip replacement has been a piece of cake.  Very little pain and, he pushes himself and refuses offers of help!  He had his staples removed this morning.

The first quilt was made with Bonnie and Camille's "Vintage Modern" that I got a couple of years ago.  I made a pattern called "Lattice and Chains", which can be found on Moda Bake Shop.

The second quilt is a small lap quilt.  I used Moda's "Modern Background--Ink".  I am going to add a border as soon as the fabric arrives.

I got up this morning and worked on some simple projects--potholders and sewing the binding on a Christmas table topper.  I cut some fabric for a new modern quilt called "City Park".  I am going to have to take a trip to the fabric store for a couple more colors of solids.

I have also been thinking about going for a walk.  With any luck, that urge will go away before too long!!
