Last Fall Quilt

I think that I am finished making fall quilts/table toppers.  I am definitely ready to try something else.  Sew, without further ado:

I can't decide which way the quilt looks the best!

Saturday Morning!

I have been retired for 11 days now and I thought that I would start sleeping in.  HA!  I was up at 5 am! And, trying to vary my routine and spread out a bit, I did not sit down at my sewing machine.  I had a cup of coffee, read the paper, and then went downstairs and quilted two small table toppers.  Since no one but my sister commented on the last post about my cute backing fabric, I am going to assume that you all loved it too!!

Sew, I saw this quilt on a blog, and don't remember where, but thought that I could piece it without a pattern.  The first thing that I should have done when I ran into trouble was to take it outside and take a picture to know how the screwed up HSTs should have been sewn.  It is pretty obvious in the picture. Anyway, this one will have to stay home and be mine.  If anyone wants it, send me your address to: srowe1948@gmail.com.  If I get more than one person wanting it, I will draw a name!

Yesterday afternoon, I made a double batch of Blueberry Lemon Bread, sew I could take a loaf to one of my golfing buddies!  I am off to the quilt shop for some border fabric.  Sew you later!

More Fall Table Toppers with a Surprise!

Retired life is a busy life!  Monday = Doctor;  Tuesday = Haircut; Wednesday = Medicare Insurance Lady; Thursday/Friday = Golf!  I did some quilting after my insurance agent left, one for my sister, and two little fall toppers.  I spied the backing fabric in my stash and thought that it would be perfect for the season.  Hee Hee!

Backing!
I also got some shortbread cookies and a lemon zucchini bread made the other day.  So far, I have cleaned something everyday, including my sewing room twice!

Fall Table Topper

I wore myself out this morning by trying to clean my sewing room.  I bagged up three bags of fabric for friends to pick through and three bags of clothes and stuff for Goodwill!  I was going to make cookies today, but will have to wait until tomorrow.  Sew, here is my first fall quilt.  It is only about 40" but has the beautiful fall colors.

I didn't expect to finish sewing the binding on this topper.  I used Moda's "Sphere".  Love the colors.

My golf partner and I won our match yesterday.  We then had a nice lunch before heading home.  Hope you have a great week end!

RETIREMENT!!!!!!!!

Ladies, today is the first day of my retirement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am SO HAPPY!!!   I promised myself that I would clean something every single day.  I shook out all of the scatter rugs, cleaned the upstairs bathtub (that no one uses and is usually pretty dusty), and threw out questionable food from the refrigerator.

I have a golf tournament tomorrow, sew, I did a little practicing with my chipping.  And then finally, sat down at my sewing machine and made a fall table topper.  It is now loaded on the quilter.

I finished sewing the binding on two quilts.  Here are the pictures.  First is my "Carpenter's Star" and the second is a small quilt made with a pattern from Kaye England.

Did I tell you how HAPPY I am!!!

Am I confused or just totally insane?!

How is your week end going?  No golf this weekend, it has been HOT here and my partner can't stand the heat.  Instead, I have been sitting at my sewing machine for 4 days and have had just about enough for a few days!  I have made a "Transformer" quilt, a Christmas present,  a large "Carpenter Star", with Moda's "Sentiment"  and quilted a fall quilt that I made last year.

I still have to make a transformer pillowcase plus the quilting.  But, not today.  I think that I will go make some cookies or something!
