Home Again, Home Again!

Everyone made it home safely Saturday from the quilt retreat.  Corrie Munson, her sister Des,  and friend, Stacey put a lot of effort and work into planning for the retreat.  Several of the gals gave little tutorials on such things as binding, sewing zippers and making pop cakes.  We even had a quilt challenge where you have about 70 minutes to make something for the kitchen from a half yard of fabric, and some charm squares.  The winner made an apron and matching bikini top!  Yes, a matching bikini top!  It was hilarious!!  We made new friends and if you are like my sister, cried when it was time to leave.  I have been to bed early every night since we got home.  It is surprising or not, how tired you can get at a retreat!!

I want to share this description on Kathy's blog of the food prepared by Stacey.  Go here!

I made a pumpkin table topper, finished my Pam Buda "Nappy's Dowry", made a cute pumpkin candle mat that I saw here, and got started on my purple Irish Chain.

I didn't have to return to work until Wednesday morning, so I spent Sunday and Monday resting and putzing around the house.  Tuesday morning, I met my golfing buddy and her daughter for breakfast, shopped a little, and then spent the rest of the day quilting.  Tonight I will get the binding stitched on and do the hand stitching.  Hopefully, I will have some pics for you by this weekend!!

Thank goodness I only had to work Wednesday and Thursday--love these short weeks!  BUT, let me tell you I enjoyed the ten days off and makes me look forward to RETIREMENT!!

  1. I love that Nappy's Dowry and have pulled out some fabric, so I hope I can get a top done in time for the posting in December. I was tired after the retreat too but it was all worth it!
