I can't find my ambition, my inspiration, my enthusiasm, my mojo. I have lots and lots of project ideas but there they sit. I can't decide on what to start next. Maybe I am on overload and need to take a break. I did sew this week end and finished a couple of little quilt tops. The first is a quilt called "Kaye's Scrap Squares" from a Fons and Porter Scrap Quilts 2011. I want to use a flannel backing so I can cuddle up with the dogs this winter!
The second quilt is a tutorial called "This Way and That Way" from Pleasant Home Patterns. I used a bunch of Fig Tree fabric from my stash.
Okay, I have turned my sewing machine and iron off. If you have any advice, please let me know!

sometimes i have to revive my mojo. I have a notebook of graph paper and I doodle quilts for a while.
ReplyDeleteIt happens to me, too. It's usually because I'm overwhelmed and have too many projects that I want to do and not enough time to do all of them. It helps to make a list and then prioritize. Don't worry. Your mojo will return.
ReplyDeleteHappens to me too - take a break, do what you enjoy doing, maybe do a little fabric shopping and I guareentee that soon the fabrics will speak to you again :)
ReplyDeleteI clean and reorganize my sewing room for a fresh start. I also do what you do and work on small projects -my "notquilts". Finally I browse pinterest, tumblr, and etsy for inspiration.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel alone. Maybe you could whip up some of those fleece socks for a change from quilting for awhile. I am sure you will get hit with the bug again real soon.
ReplyDeleteSandy - it happens to all super great quilters - just take a little breather. And do what Ramona suggested - sew some socks!!!
