Hi Friends, I finally have a few days off and am trying to catch up on some of my quilting. I have a few birthdays coming up so have made some quilts with the same pattern, different fabrics.

I have a better picture of Zeke.  Potty training is going well.  He can sit and stay on command and we are working on "down".  As usual with new babies, I haven't had much time to sew or quilt.  But I did finish two quilts for my sister, and one for a friend.  Maybe this week I can finish "Charlesvoix"!!

Let me introduce Zeke (8 weeks, Border Collie/Corgi Mix):

Ready for an update on Charlesvoix?

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

I thought that I would give you a little sneek peek at my slow progress with my "Charlesvoix" quilt.  The picture is 1.5 blocks.

Plus, look what I got in the mail today from Moda!

Thank you Moda for the nice surprise!

I played eighteen holes of golf this morning and shot 41 on the back, YEAH.  I stopped at the store for salad supplies, came home and made Wayne some brownies and then started sewing

I thought that I would show you what I am working on this afternoon.  I saw a darling lap quilt at "Aunt Mary's Quilt Shop" in Arlington, Washington when I was over on the west side last week-end.  She said that she used two charm packs of "Charlesvoix, but I bought four just in case!  I am stitching double lines on the corners so I can just cut and have a finished half triangle square.

Stack of half triangle squares

Pile of 5" squares with one corner sewn.

I will update you as I progress with the quilt.

I got Gabe's baseball quilt quilted last night--YEAH!  I am in the process of sewing the binding on and will get the hand stitching finished this evening.  Now I have to try to remember my flicker password to post my pictures for the Friday Night Sew-In.

It's Friday Night!  I have dinner in the oven and am trying to get my backing sewn together for the grand nephew's baseball quilt that I hope to get pinned on the frame tonight after dinner and then, get it quilted,  We will see what else interupts my day!

I am going to try to get some kind of jump start on one of my projects.  I feel as if I am not getting anything done!  So I will be participating in the Friday Night Sew-In with Heidi and friends.  Please join us!

I went to Bellingham Thursday and Friday to celebrate my son's 42nd birthday.  I stayed with my sister in Everett.  As usual, I came home with two more of her quilts that need quilting!  I got home Saturday about noon and started a quilt top for our grand-nephew, Gabe.  He is playing baseball so that was the theme that he chose for his quilt.  I finished the top while watching the exciting ending to the "Master's Golf Tournament".

I will do the quilting next Friday, and then quilt one of my sister's masterpieces!

Here is  a picture of the quilt that I have been working on for the last couple of week-ends.  I had almost all of the triangles finished and decided that I wanted a scrapier look.  I used a pattern called "Wintergarden" by Nancy Rink.  As usual, I didn't follow directions exactly but I like the way that it turned out!

I have been working a little more than I cared to these past few weeks, and that means a lot less time to sew and quilt.  I managed to quilt two baby quilts for my sister, and then made a disappearing 16 patch that I found on Melissa Corry's blog (happy quilting melissa).  I also finished a table topper with fabric that I bought over a year ago.

I played golf this morning, so I have not got the binding sewn on yet.

Happy Quilting!
