What a great Labor Day Weekend.  I finished up my scrappy "Endless Possibilities".  I started quilting it one way and ended up with another?!

I also worked on several small projects and as soon as I sew the bindings on, I will show them as well.  I need to go back to work tomorrow to rest up!

I did some work on my "Stars" quilt but am still behind.
Catch you soon!

It's the start of Labor Day weekend and all my golfing buddies are out of town, so I get to sew and quilt all weekend!  I finished sewing the binding on my first Log Cabin last night.  The fabric is Scarborough Fair and I used a Baptist Fan to quilt it.

Tank likes to sleep on a quilt in my chair!
I am off to get groceries and hopefully won't leave the house until Tuesday morning when it's back to work!

Introducting Todd and Andrea Rowe.

The wedding was held at the Peace Arch Park in Blaine.  Here are a few pics of the park.

It was a wonderful wedding and a great week-end!

Good morning, I am not home.  hee hee.  I am in Everette (at my sister's house) this morning and will be in Blaine at the Peace Arch Park this afternoon.  My son is getting married at 4 pm.  I am so very happy for him and his bride.  I will post a picture or two when I get home.

We drove to Bellingham yesterday to take everyone to dinner and we stopped at a quilt shop, "Twin Thimbles" and I bought some reproduction fat quarters, a darling mini quilt kit, and a yard of  "Spooktacular Too".  I am starting to think about the fall and what quilts to make for Halloween.

But, for today, I am the mother of the groom!

I bought 4 KT Turnovers on sale a few years ago and just finished sewing the binding on.  I think that it was the "Cranberry Wishes" collection.  And it is a little bigger than a lapsize.  (Don't forget my little table topper!)

OOPS!  Brought the quilt to work for Show and Tell and SOLD IT!

The boys were getting in my way when I was taking pictures.  So, I took theirs too!  They are both part Corgi, but I think just their legs.  LOL

My DH bought a new driver (golf club) Friday and gave me his "old" one.  I absolutely love it.  I can drive it straight and long!  After golf this morning, I came home and made a batch of sugar cookies.  Yum, Yum.  I have been sewing this afternoon but not on any of my quilt-alongs.  I am making a mini quilt for the fall.  It won't be finished for a couple of days.  Yesterday I re-did my block #1,  I removed the one that didn't belong.  I also completed two blocks of block #2.  Plus, I have the 4 patch for all of the centers.  I also made block #2 scrappier

Last night I quilted a lap quilt and a table topper.  I used 4 leftover blocks from the quilt, which I will bind today.

I have also been participating in Happy Quilting "Stars" quilt along.  I am using red and white fabric and am still experimenting with the placement of the colors.  "One of these things is not like the others, one of these things doesn't belong".

I need to make two more of these blocks and then start on the next set.  Whatever "doesn't belong" will probably go into a table topper!

I am Happy, Happy, Happy tonight.  First, I got this in the mail today from Carol (mamacjt).  It wasn't a gift, but, I love it!   She is hanging downstairs with my quilting machine and other quilting stuff!  Carol was kind enough to sign the back!
My name is "Francine"

Second, I finally decided to make a scrappy red and white quilt for the "Stars" Quilt Along.  I have been collecting reds for some time and finally found the right pattern.

Third, I was busy enough at work today that I only ate breakfast (Honey Nut Cheerios) and lunch (egg sandwich and ONE cookie).  Yeah!  You see, I lost quite a bit of weight, stopped dieting, and can't eat enough.  If I am bored, it's eat, eat, eat!!!!

So, for a Monday, it has been TERRIFIC!

I finished another "Strawberry Fields" quilt, took it to work for "Show and Tell" and sold it.  Luckily Judy knows how to work the camera in her phone because I hadn't even taken a picture yet.  Let me tell you that I LOVE this fabric! Any hoot:

PS  Just in case you were wondering how I can be so speedy, I must tell you that I have several quilts that I work on at a time.  They are in various stages of completion:  from wannabe projects in plastic bags; some cut and ready for stitching;  some partially stitched and several sitting on the quilter waiting!

I finally got some quilting completed.  I was on a roll yesterday and finished three quilts.  I also have a WIP to show you.  The first finished quilt is one that I made for my cousin Vonda.  She said that she was ready for a change.  Well, she got it!  The pattern I used was "Rockin' Around the Block" from Moose Quilts.  Click on the picture to enlarge it and you get a better view of the actual colors!

Full/Queen

The second quilt is a wild "I Spy" for a friend's niece.

And the third finish is a small table topper.

Small Table Topper ("Aviary")
And, my WIP is my first attempt at a log cabin quilt.  I have been afraid to make one because I think that I will cut the squares wrong.  So, someone else cut them for me!

I took all the pictures outside but the table topper.  They look a little washed out to me, but...

Melissa from Happy Quilting is having a quilt along starting August 8, 2011.  It is a queen size quilt and should last about 6 weeks and here is the quilt, which is called "Stars".

Sunday, July 24, 2011

I got the binding sewn on a little table topper using Fig Tree's "Strawberry Fields".  It wasn't what I started to make but it is what I ended up with.  LOL

I finished my leftover candle mat top.  I made hourglass blocks from my HSTs'.  I will add it to the pile of quilts sitting on my quilter!  I just haven't felt like quilting.

I finished my scrappy blue quilt top last night during the FNSI.  After I sewed the border on, I found another stack of hsts' and could have made it a little bigger.  I figure I can make some candle mats with the leftovers!

Now, I have to figure out how I am going to quilt it.  Stay tuned!

To prove to myself that I am not a complete idiot (I can follow directions!), I made another "Petite Pinwheel" mini quilt.  I stuck with my major color obsession lately and used red, white and blue scraps.  I still have to quilt and bind it but...

Now, I am off to get an iced mocha and finish making myself feel better!
