First House

I joined a group of ladies over at Cottons n Wool, who have challenged themselves to make this quilt:

I am a little behind, this is my first block.  I am not real crazy for how it turned out, but I promise you that they will get better!  LOL

Chevron Peek

Here's a peek at my Chevron quilt.  I am still using my stash of Minick and Simpson fabrics!

I also got an email today that I need to have my "Homespun Houses" block #3 completed by Wednesday and posted.  So that means I have to put my HST aside and start building a house.  I am going to be using some Minick and Simpson wovens.

Saturday Early Afternoon

We had an early tee time this morning, 6:33 am because of a men's club tournament.  So, I was home by 11 am and have completed my "Scrap Squares Doll Quilt" from Kathleen Tracy's book The Civil Was Sewing Circle.   It went together very easily.  It will probably be my submission for Darlene's June "Christmas Through The Year".

Now, it's back to work on my HSTs!

Friday Morning

I have been busy this morning catching up with my housework and some sewing.  I made June's Temecula's mini quilt.

The second quilt is this month's Schnibbles called "Leap Year".  I used some left over fabric/two patch that I used for a baby quilt last year.  That made this easy peasy!

I will work some this afternoon on my "Chevron" quilt--sewing lots and lots of HSTs'.

Under the Rainbow

Ok, who figured out that I was on vacation this week?!  Well, I got four quilts pieced together and even got caught up with a little extra housekeeping!  Here is my 4th and final quilt.  It is called "Under the Rainbow" and is in the June/July issue of Quilt.  I used more of my scraps, this time blues from a variety of Minick and Simpson's fabrics.

I am off to get my hair cut and when I get home, it's down to the quilter to get started reducing "the Stack"! PS  No Vicki, you may NOT have this quilt!!  My plan was to make another "Endless Possibilities" but this got in the way!  Love you!  BUT, you can have this strange little table topper that I made with the leftover scraps!

Schnibbles "Doc"

Yeah, it is 3:55 pm Pacific Time, May 31, 2012 and I finally finished my May Schnibbles.  I used Moda's "Blueberry Crumb".  Why do I wait until the last minute to start?  Yesterday when I started, I thought about making the quilt bigger as I had more than enough fabric.  BUT, I ran out of time.  I will use my scraps for something else!

Busy Scrappy Day

Shhh, don't tell anyone, but I am off today.  The dogs got me up about 5:30 am and I hit the sewing machine about 7.  My intention was to cut and make my "Doc" quilt, but for some reason that really doesn't interest me. Last year when I was making my "Stars" quilt, I bought lots of red, white and blue fabric.  This morning I dug through some of my scraps and made a small table runner.

I also found three charm packs of "Clermont Farms" and "Bar Harbor" and decided to make a "Twister" quilt.  Here is the charm quilt.

And, here is the "Twister":

I can cross this off of my list for 2012.   I tried making a selvage something today.  And, was successful in making a coaster.  LOL

Now, these two quilts go downstairs and to my stack on the quilter.  I am off to put supper in the oven--Chicken Enchilada's, take a shower and watch the Mariners play.

Something New

Here is one of three quilts that I started this weekend.  I need some more fabric for one and I only have a few blocks cut for the third.  This one is a little outside of the box for me.  I am thinking of adding one more row and a border.  I did add a bit of sashing to one side of each block to break up the "wild" colors.  I haven't quite decided but I have plenty of time because of the stack of quilts sitting on my quilter! I used a combination of Kate Spain's "Good Fortune" and "Terrain".

Pocket Patchwork

I finished the binding on my "Pocket Patchwork" mini, designed by Pam Buda.  I love the fabric and the mini.  I may have to make another!

Jelly Roll Quilt

Here is one more quilt that I can check off of my to do list, a Jelly Roll Quilt.  I used Moda's "Its a Hoot".  I think that the trick to jelly roll quilts is to use bright fabrics!

Backing and Quilting Motif

I have to show you this pillowcase.  It is made with the cutest fabric ever--"Cutest Critters" by Avlyn Design Studio.

I am off to the basement to start quilting Durinda's quilt!

May FNSI

I have wanted to get this quilt quilted for some time and last night I finally got it done.  When I got up this morning, I sewed the binding on and threw it into the wash.  The pattern is "Under the Sea" by Pat Sloan.

Scrappy Flannel

I have been trying to catch up with several small projects for the past couple of weeks.  I finally finished the binding for this scrappy flannel quilt.

It is beautiful outside so I hung it on the fence to take the picture.

My cousin sent me a baby quilt to redo.  Her mother in law (my auntie Maxine) made it when her son was born.  It was tied and Vonda asked me to quilt it.  I am sorry to all, but I had to remove the zig zag stripe on the binding.  But, here is the quilt.  If any of you have any fabric like this hidden away, please let me know!

Wonderful Surprise

I was traveling through blog land and saw that Heidi posted the winner from the April FNSI.  To be eligible, you had to make some kids pillowcases and send them to them to Arrows Cabinets in Arizona for the Conkerr Cancer Challenge.  There were ~174 pillowcases sent and,  THEY DREW MY NAME!!!!  Here is what I won:
Thank you Arrows Cabinets!

4 Patch Doll Quilt

I cut way too many squares for my Civil War Stars Doll Quilt than I needed.  I sewed them all up into 4 patches and then added some other squares, two borders and "Ta Da".

I also found some really cute red, white, and blue fabric Friday at the craft store.  Here is what I made today!  Yep, more pillowcases!

Civil War Stars Doll Quilt

I have skipped Kathleen Tracy's monthly mini quilt challenge for a couple of months.  This morning work called at 4:50 am and wanted me to come in.  I said "NO" and tried to go back to sleep.  However, the dogs decided that I needed to get up!  As a result, I had all of my chores done by 7 am.  I sat down, cut all my 1 1/2" squares and completed my doll quilt before supper.

My plan for the rest of the week end is to play golf, go downstairs and quilt, and go to my darling sister-in-law's for supper on Sunday.

Catch you later!
