Thomas The Train is Rumbling Down the Track!

I finished sewing the binding on Thomas the Train this morning and he is ready to go to his new owner on Wednesday.  It is sew cute, and I made a pillowcase to match!  The pattern is called "The Big Easy".

The second quilt is a flimsy that I also finished this morning.  The fabric is from Art Galley Fabrics and is called "Indian Summer".  I have had the fabric for awhile but saw this quilt on Pinterest and decided that it would work with this fabric.  I love it!

 I am working on another quilt using fabric from Tula Pink called "Hushabye".  It is a couple of years old but again, I finally found a pattern that would work for the fabric.  Pictures later!

I have had a roast in the crock pot all day and it is time to peel the potatoes.  Until next time...

Week End Wrap Up!

I am listening to the Seattle Mariners on opening day of baseball.  I am sew psyched for the new season.  I finished up a small quilt Saturday.  I think the pattern is one of MQC and the fabric is an old Moda "Collection for a Cause".

The second is a another mini quilt.  I used a pattern called "Bucket List" from Sherri's "Quilting Life Simply Small Project".  It is ~20" x 20".  I made mine scrappy with mostly Kansas Troubles fabric.

 I am working on a mini quilt that I found on "Fort Worth Fabric Studio called Daysail Mini"  Head on over and see what Lindsey's mother made!

My sister and I are again fighting colds.  We live across the state from each other and caught the same germ.  We sound alike on the phone!!

Monday, Monday...

It is Monday afternoon and I am tired and sore.  I spent 5 hours yesterday cleaning out the closet in my sewing room and cleaning the room.  I haven't worn the clothes for a couple of years (mainly because I had fabric stacked in front of the doors!)  Out went the clothes and in went the fabric, or at least some of it!  LOL!

Sew, here are two finishes.  The first has to be quilted right away, it is a gift for our friend who is moving.  The fabric, is "Fresh Off The Farm" and another friend helped me sew the blocks!  The second, is a very bright baby quilt. (Moda's Gypsy Girl)

Sew, I am off to the store to buy ingredients for another new recipe from "Pinterest" "Chicken Alfredo Baked Ziti".  I  will let you know how it turns out!

The Week End is Here!

I finished sewing the binding on this mini quilt while on the golf course yesterday.  I try to take hand work with me to the course so that I don't lose patience!!  The pattern is "Summer Star" and I found it on "A Quilting Life"

I have been sitting at my sewing machine since 6 am this morning.  In between stitches, I have been looking at Pinterest for quilting ideas and meal ideas!  Plus, I have finished all of the laundry!  Any way, I am making a baby quilt with Moda's "Gypsy Girl".

Tomorrow, I will be going to a friend's house and making a going away quilt for another friend.  We should be able to finish the top and I will quilt it on Sunday.  The friend will be leaving as soon as her house sells, sew we need to be ready!

Windy Week-end!

I set up a table at a friend's this past weekend.  She is leasing the old fire station and had a Spring Garden Hoe Down. There were several crafters and a Blue Grass Band played.  The only problem was that the WIND  blew.  My quilts and I came home covered with dust.

This morning, I finished sewing the binding on a baby quilt for a friend.  I used Henry Glass' Noah's Ark.  It is an older collection, but perfect for a new grandson!  I used Minkee for the first time and it quilted like a dream!

My local Gammill rep was by first thing this morning for my annual servicing and changed out four wheels.  I didn't know that you could wear wheels out!  He was here two hours and I wrote a check for $400+.  He does a great job but...

I also finished up my Thomas The Train and it is now on the quilter.  Pics by Wednesday??
Finally, I made Triple Chocolate Scones and used chips with caramel inside.  YUMMY!  I still need to figure out what to fix for dinner.  I made a big ham yesterday, thinking it was Easter!  Sew, maybe left overs!

Missing For 10 Days?!!

I have been working on several quilts, including a "Thomas The Train" but today, I finished piecing one.  I saw "Round Trip" in a  "Fons and Porter" magazine.  It is about 60" square and made of Bella Solids Triangles.  It is now downstairs in the dungeon.  Speaking of which, I have an appointment Monday for a tune up on my machine.

This past weekend, I had a booth at the Annual Antique and Vintage Two Day Show.  I was able to sell several quilts, AND, I met Shelley Coykendall, an award winning quilter from the Hermiston Oregon area.  I was absolutely thrilled to talk to her for about 20 minutes.

I am off to look at a friends stash!  I hope that I don't come home with too much!

Beautiful Friday Afternoon!

Spring is finally here in the Tri-Cities.  We had our opening golf breakfast and meeting yesterday and can start posting our handicaps.  I have also been doing a lot of sewing, trying to get ready for the Spring Antique Show, where I set up a table and try to sell my wares.  There is a group of church ladies that come every year to buy quilts for their spring bazaar.  They used to make all of the own quilts but age and diminishing membership have forced them to find alternative sources!

This picture shows that I have almost mastered another free arm pattern for my quilting!

Play Day!

I spent a little time this morning playing with my new "Silhoutte"!  I have decorated several tee shirts but wanted to try a vinyl transfer.  I transferred the vinyl to a framed mirror that I bought at "Tuesday Morning" for $14.  It will hang down in the dungeon!

I also finished another mini quilt.  It took me most of the day yesterday to cut and sew!!

Now it will go down to the dungeon to be quilted.  Bon Voyage!

Sunny Sundays!

It has been a nice week, mostly sunny!  Yeah!  I have a couple of finishes to show you.  The first is a little table topper using 3 Sisters "Whitewashed Cottage".  I love the soft feminine look!

The second finish is from Vintage Quilt Revival called "Spiced Chai Quilt".  I fixed the block that was out of wack!!

And, finally a new flimsy called "Mocha Swirl" by Kim Brackett.  I made mine scrappy with a lot of Kansas Troubles fabric.

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is not a big deal in our house, but I did put a Valentine's Table Runner on the coffee table.  Better than none, right?!  I think that the pattern was called "Love Note" from MQC!

I found this cute little card wallet and have made several.  Don't tell, but I made one for each of the gals on my golf team!  I used Loralie's Golf fabric.

New Finishes!

I am thinking of going shopping for a pair of rain boots.  We have been having more rain here in the Tri-Cities than I can remember!  Sew, I took pictures on the living room floor.  First up, is my finish for the small quilt group found here!  The mini is called "Answer All Invitations That Ask You To RSVP" found in 101 Fabulous Small Quilts.

Catching Up!

I finally went down to the dungeon to figure out what was going on with my quilting machine.  I was trying to be Judi Madsen and quilt with a double layer of Hobbs batting.  BUT, I kept breaking needles and it sounded like my timing was a bit off!  Sew, I took the project off the machine and loaded one of many mini's onto it and quilted away for four hours.  NO PROBLEMS!  I quilted 5 minis and found three valentine table toppers from last year and quilted two of these.  Pics after the binding is on.

I then spent the next hour looking for a particular Quick Quilts and throwing out crap (two garbage bags full)  I never did find the right Quick Quilts but did clean up!  I had to take a couple of Advil to relieve my aching muscles.

Today, my plan is to sew bindings and start my sister in law's quilt, "In The Kitchen".  I just need to figure out what's for dinner and I am set for the day!!

Week Ends!

I had a fantastic non quilting weekend.  I went to the west side of the state to visit family and friends that I hadn't seen in many many years.  My cousin Robin was out from Illinois visiting her folks--my auntie and uncle, and I met them for lunch.  When we got back to their house, two more cousins and their families arrived (Brick and Kip).  After I left there, I went to my son and daughter in laws house for a great dinner and a great visit.  I returned to  my sister's house in Everett, spent the night and got home before "THE GAME" came on (GO SEAHAWKS!).  I did have time to stop at a couple of quilt shops along the way.  I bought some of Pam Kitty's new fabric and made a cute and easy bag this morning.

I also made a "Whatcha Got? Bag PATTERN by This & That".  I had made one a couple of weeks ago and couldn't figure out the bottom, sew I ad libbed!  Some time Saturday night, I woke up with the solution and made one the correct way!  I used "Sphere" from Moda.

My sister wanted to know why I hadn't been posting.  I told here because I had been playing on my sewing machine making little projects.  BUT, I have made my hounds tooth into a queen size quilt.  It just needs to be quilted and my quilting machine needs to be timed!

I have also been trying scone recipes that I have found on Pinterest.  So far, my favorite is Orange Cranberry!

It is 48 degrees outside, I should go for a walk, but am sitting in front of my sewing machine!       Sew, see you later!

Another Bucket List Quilt Checked Off

As you know, I have been working or playing on my sewing machine with little projects.  That is, until I saw another tutorial on the Missouri Quilt Company.  It is a Houndstooth quilt and is something that I have wanted to make for a few years!  It was very easy to make, and am thinking about making a red one!

My next little project is from Kathleen  Tracy's blog and is called "Disappearing 4 Patch" using three inch squares.  Until next time...
