Good Fortune Finished

I just finished sewing the binding on my interpretation of "Good Fortune" that I copied from Anne over at Cotton n Wool.  Anne used a combination of reds, while I used blues from "Independence Trail".

I watched Judi Madsen's tutorial a dozen times and practiced to make her "Swirl Feather" quilting design.  She is an awesome quilter!!

My oh My, Simply Unbelievable

I finished sewing the binding on my "Luxe in Bloom" quilt last night but it was too dark to take a picture.  When I got home from work today, I took the quilt outside and started to hang it up on the fence.  Lo and behold, a baby quilt fell out of the bigger quilt.  I was TOTALLY ASTONISHED!   My quilt had a baby!  (Baby quilt is on the left side of the picture!)

As I said Simply Unbelievable!  I wish that it was April 1st.

Week End Wrap Up

I didn't play any golf this weekend because the course had a big men's tournament,  So, that meant that I got to play all weekend.  Friday, I made a mini quilt from Temeculta Quilt Shop, a little late but...

I cut the fabric for a new quilt called "Impromptu" by Rachel Griffith.  I have finished all of the blocks and have sewn one row together.  I used Moda's "Tradewinds" which I purchase a couple of months ago and didn't really like.  I thought that it might work for this pattern.

Saturday, I quilted two quilts, one for me and one for a friend.  I am still sewing the binding on so I can't show you yet!  I have also pieced some squares for a baby quilt.  And, finally, made two pillowcases.  A customer from the Prosser Farmers Market wanted these to send to his niece.  I used Moda's "Queen of the Ranch", which is getting very hard to find!

Friday, I made White Chocolate Cranberry Scones using a recipe from Land o Lakes. They were awesome.  DH has eaten several!  I just got out of the kitchen where I made White Chocolate Macadamia Nut cookies and got supper started.

All in all, a great weekend for creativity!  I hope that yours was productive as well!

Update!

I have been a little busy the last two week-ends to get much sewing done.  I had a table for my quilted goods at the local antique show two weeks ago and the Prosser Farmers Market this last Saturday.  I was able to finish a mini quilt from Kathleen Tracy's shop called "Little Sweethearts".  As usual, I didn't follow the directions exactly but I love it!

I finally got my "Chippewa" and "Good Fortune" quilted.  I worked on them a little bit every day.  They are now awaiting the binding.  As soon as that is finish, I will post pictures.

I updated Tank's picture but Zeke wouldn't sit still long enough for me to get his;  one of these days!

Get a Clue with Nancy Drew

Hello and Welcome!
Today is my day on the Nancy Drew Blog Hop and my first blog hop EVER!  I have to tell you that I have been very excited since Madame Sam announced this hop!
Thank you Madame Samm and Carol for cheering us on.

Let us begin our "Mystery Tour"!

I stopped at the library because I needed some Nancy Drew Books!  I found this cute little coin purse, made from Madame Samm's pattern!
Next, I found this Nancy Drew Book Bag.  It was made to hold several Nancy Drew Books!
I made this little fabric basket that can be used on the nightstand.

As I walked around town looking for clues, I found this lovely quilt and pillow laying on a nice bench.  The quilt blocks have corner squares sewn on the upper right and lower left of each 5" charm pack square.  The backing is the book fabric.  Some lucky little girl would love to come and cuddle up with her books!

And finally, a matching pillowcase!
I hope that you have enjoyed my projects for the Nancy Drew Blog Hop.  Be sure to stop by all of the other talented bloggers listed below!

And, once again, thank you to Madame Samm and Carol!

"Good Fortune" Flimsy

Well, last night the more that I looked at "Good Fortune", the less that I liked the look.  Sooo, this morning I took it with me golfing and ripped out all of the brown setting triangles.  Then, when I got home, I replaced the brown with blue and now I am much happier.  I will have to buy some fabric for the border and some nice flannel for the back!  Plus, it is now a rectangle and will make a perfect lap quilt!

"Good Fortune" Progress

I thought that you might be interested in my progress with "Good Fortune", even though yesterday I said that it wasn't my main project.  So, after golf, I worked a bit on it.  Somehow, I have gone array but...

It is going to end up square and a little smaller than I thought!

Friday's Design Wall

When I got up this morning, my plan was to work on my Chippewa Quilt.  I finally pinned it to the quilter Wednesday night.  However, I saw this darling quilt over on Cotton's and Woolens and knew that I wanted to make it.  I dug around and found some blues, browns and creams from Moda's "Independence Trail" and started cutting and sewing.  Here's what I came up with:

It is not my main project, but I know that I will finish it up soon!  I need a bit more fabric!  Be sure to go over to Cottons and Woolens, Anne's is red!
