"Quilt of Valor" Finish

I finished another lap size quilt that will go to the QOV Foundation.  It still needs to be quilted but will need to buy some backing.

No, I did not work on my Garnet Trace today!

Weekly Progress!

I have been sewing all morning and am ready to head to the dungeon for a little long arm quilting!  I have two little finishes and have made great progress with my "Garnet Trace".   The first mini is from my "Prairie Children and Their Quilts" sewing group.  It is called "Prairie Basket Quilt".

The second mini is for a golfing friend's granddaughter's room.  That is a mouthfull!!  It is a basic, pinwheel, made with a charm pack of "Kashmar" from Moda several years ago.

And finally, I have completed five rows on the Garnet Trace.  The little red four patch changes directions on every row.  I sewed pieces together all day Wednesday, thinking that I had made enough to finish the quilt.  Alas, that is not the case.  I will need to sew more!

Sew, hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go!  NOT, just downstairs!

"Garnet Trace" Progress

I squeezed in a little sewing time this morning!

Before I head out to my craft bazaar, I wanted to show you my "Garnet Trace" progress. I have sewn lots of pieces together and two rows of blocks.  I don't think that I am going to make the BIG quilt but maybe a lapsize!  Tooooo many pieces of the BIG quilt and I like instant gratification!! I am making my quilt a little scrappier by using my stash of Minick and Simpson.

Catch you later!

Oh, Oh, I Got Distracted!

I was wandering around blogland this morning when I opened "My Red Door Designs".  I saw a pattern for a small quilt that I just had to have!!  It is called "My Red Star".  Obviously, I will call it My Blue Star!

I am now working on "Garnet Trace"! Will see how far I get today!!  Golfing tomorrow, unless it rains, and a craft bazaar Friday and Saturday.

"Lucy" is Finished

"Lucy" is finished!  I made it a little smaller than the pattern.  I used a spider web motif and should have used a brighter color.  I thought the bright yellow would work, but, it did not.  Anyway, here is Lucy!

I did a few chores this morning and have made a bean soup that is simmering on the stove,  AND, I am diligently working on "Garnet Trace".  Golf tomorrow, if it doesn't rain!!

Another New Project

Yes, I started another new project.  No, I haven't finished my last one "Lucy".  I have half the binding sewn on, which I did the last two days while golfing.  The pace of play was pretty good, so I didn't have a lot of time to sew!

Need to make 144

Need to make 144
The finished quilt measures 106 x 106 and should take me a couple of weeks, ha ha!!  Will see how long before I get bored with it.  Sew, off to check on dinner, a roast in the crock pot and then root for the Seahawks!

More Golf!!

My partner and I did not place in the two lady best ball tournament at our home course this past week end.  BUT, we had fun and won a couple of prizes in the raffle.

This morning I was up early  but didn't start sewing.  Instead, I loaded up my golf clubs and headed to Yakima for a team competition.  My partner and I won our match and placed second in the over all competition.  Our team placed next to last for the season!!

I finished up this Halloween table runner yesterday.  I have also made one using "Grants Pass", but haven't quilted it yet!

I have enough 2.5" squares to make another table runner and to finish the binding on my "Lucy".  I might even get it quilted!

More Finishes!

I am playing in a golf tournament this week end and doubt that I will get any finishes.  But, wanted to show you these! The first one is a "Disappearing Hourglass" from MQC.  I used "Simply Color".

Backing

I don't remember the pattern for the second one, but the fabric is "Hearty Good Wishes"

Have a good weekend!

FORE!

PS  I am working on the border of my "Lucy" quilt.

My Version of "Lucy"

Good morning!  Before I head out to run a few errands, I wanted to show you my version of "Lucy" by Carrie Nelson.  I saw a finished version on Cupcakes and Daisies, and decided that I wanted another Halloween quilt!!

I just need to decide on what kind of border!  I screwed up my measurements when I cut the white fabric, sew I don't have any left!  Until later, sew, sew, sew!
