Quilting Resolutions?!

I have been home for 4 days and have yet to start a new quilt project.  Yesterday, I tried some paper piecing and was successful with one pattern and not successful with another.  I WILL try again today.

I also made a shopping tote to take with me when I take care of Carly.  They charge for using their paper bags!  I will be going back in for morning.  Mommy should be out of the hospital Friday or Saturday!

Merry Christmas!

It was a sad morning for me. After 12 days of taking care of my granddaughter, Carly, I headed home for a few days of rest and the holidays.  It was a six hour drive, including going over Snoqualmie Pass, but thank the Lord, I made it home safely.

I took several quilt projects with me, but made only six blocks.  I had forgotten how much time a baby takes.  We usually took a nap from 7-9 am and one in the afternoon.  I would feed her and then laid her on my chest, covered us with a blanket, and off to la la land.

I will be going back for a few days next week and then I will be very, very sad because it will be at least a month before I see her again 😢😢

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas 🎅🎅🎅

Changes!

While at the doctor last week, I asked her if there was a good way to deal with my obsessiveness over quilting/sewing.  I generally sit down at my sewing machine about 6 am and quit about 3 pm. Bottom line, she thinks that I am fine.  But I need to take some breaks and do a little walking.

Well, yesterday things changed BIG time.  My daughter in law had to be hospitalized and I am over on the coast helping to take care of my granddaughter.   When I got here yesterday, I took the baby from my worn out son, she settled down and barely cried the rest of the day, until bedtime that is!

When I went to bed, I forgot to take my glasses off before I put my cpap on and couldn't figure out why it was soooooo uncomfortable.  I thought it must be because I was in a strange bed.  LOL

I have had my shower and coffee, and am waiting for her to finish waking up.  Now what?!  I brought my sewing machine and a large tote full of fabric, but don't really feel the urge to do any sewing!  Actually, I feel a little restless, but it is snowing, so I am not going any where!

Will keep you informed on how my week is going!

Finished UFO and Some Christmas Projects

I went over to the west side of the state last weekend and spent the day with my new granddaughter.  She was much more active than a month ago and didn't fuss at all!  Se was all smiles and had on a new Thanksgiving outfit!

I finished my Trip Around The World quilt top this afternoon.  It is downstairs waiting for the quilting queen to go to work.  LOL!  It measures 84 x 96, so we shouldn't fight over the covers!

I have a craft show next week end so have made several gift card holders and gift bags!

And finally I made a couple of make up boxy bags for gifts.

UFO (Trip Around The World)

Yesterday after golf, I pulled this quilt out from my UFO pile.  I know that it has been over a year since I worked on it.  After taking a picture, I not only need to finish it but I need to tear the middle row out and change the direction!  I hate tearing things apart!  LOL.  I think that it will eventually be a queen size.

I have also been making Christmas Table Runners.

I think that I need to take a photography class!  Until next time...

Quilt For My Daughter In Law!

My DH's son and daughter in law bought a little trailer this summer.  She asked me to make her a throw as a surprise to her husband.  I fretted about it all summer and finally came up with this!!

I also caught the dogs together and got them to look at me at the same time!

Zeke is the black one and Tank is the blond.  Both are rescue dogs and part Corgi!

Catch you later...

My Little Pumpkin!

I asked my son to send me a picture of my precious granddaughter every day.  Here is my little pumpkin this morning!

The best thing about posting on my blog is that I usually include the pattern of the quilts that I post.  Then, if I want to make it again, I can find it!!  Well, I am going to have to spend some time today tracking down the patterns for these quilts!!!

New Projects!

Are you a follower of Quilting Life and Fat Quarter's Blogspots?  If yes, you are aware that they have been doing tutorials for some time.  This past week, I have made their simple zippered bags and their little pin cushion.

This is a mini quilt that I found on Pinterest.  I used left over fabric from Riley Blake's "Celebration".

And finally, several cute bibs that I have made for my new granddaughter!  All are reversible!

I am currently working on a lap quilt using Moda's "Sunflower Song".   Will show pics when finished!  Until next time...

Cousins!

A cousin on my mother's side of the family, flew out from Illinois to see her parents in "Nooksack, Washington"!  I drove over to my sister's on Wednesday and then to Bellingham to visit lots of cousins for breakfast.  It was fun visiting cousins and second cousins and cousins twice removed (whatever that means)  I gave my cousin some dolly sleeping bags for her grandchildren.  I forgot to take pictures of these cousins, bad girl!

After breakfast I did some shopping (Two Thimbles Quilt Shop in Bellingham) and then stopped at my cousin's on my dad's side of the family.  I left a small quilt with her (she has several!)

Finally Thursday evening, I had dinner with my son!  I gave him some receiving blankets and burp cloths that I had made for the baby girl due in October!  My next project for the baby is bibs.  I have found several cute ones on Pinterest.

I finished this little table topper while at my sisters, and left it with her!

Until next time, I am off to prep for dinner!

It has been awhile?!!

I didn't realize how long it has been since I updated my blog.  I have been doing a lot of quilting for clients, and sewing for myself.  That means that I don't have too many finished quilts!  Too many, can you say ONE!  The pattern is called "Pretzel Twist" and can be found in Fons and Porter's Quilting Quickly, June 2016.

My friend and I took a flower arranging class the Saturday before Mother's Day.  It was fun!

 Until next time...
