Bad Day

My camera decided that it would not unload any more pictures.  I haven't a clue why but it sure screws up posting  for Schnibbles, Christmas Through the Year and for showing everyone what I have been up to.  Will let you know when the problem is solved!

I bought a new usb cord, and that did not work.  So, I bought a new camera.  It will be here next week!

Vintage Kansas City Star BOM

The first project that I worked on when I got home from golfing was to put together a block from the "Vintage Kansas City Star BOM".  It took me over an hour but it was worth it!

When I was cleaning and pitching on Friday, I came across some fabric that I purchase in 2008 to make a quilt called "Plantation Bay" using "Surf and Sand" from Marcus Fabrics.   However, I used a pattern called "Bold Statement" from "Quilts and More" Summer 2011.  If you would like the quilt after it is quilted and/or the leftover fabric, let me know.

Finally, I put a new roof on my first house.  I do like it better.  And, I noticed that the chimneys and part of the roof are the same fabric.  My next house will be like the picture, maybe!

Saturday Delight!

I have been busy working on misc projects this week.  I got my Chevron quilt finished and it is now on the pile downstairs.   Yesterday, I spent a couple of hours going through my sewing room, cleaning and pitching!   I started two quilts yesterday and finished one of them today.  I played eighteen holes of golf this morning and mailed off my wonky stars and wonky four squares to Jane.  These are the last blocks for our wonky quilt.  So, by the end of July, I should have the blocks arranged and sewn together.

I have to confess that I ripped the roof off of my first homespun house.  I didn't like the color combination.  As soon as I get the new roof on, I will post a picture.

Later, gators!

June FNSI

Well, I did it, more or less.  I got all of the rows completed and started to sew them together.  I also need to decide if I want to add a border or not.  Let me know what you think!

I checked the Chevron quilts on "Etsy" and most of them did not have a border.  So, I don't think that I will either!!

Thursday Night

Instead of vegetating in front of the tv last night, I went to a meeting of our local "Farmgirls".  I learned a new way to make pillowcases--ye olde tube method!  I stopped at the grocery store afterwards and got home a little after 9 pm.  If I am not in bed by 8 pm, I have a very difficult time getting to sleep.  True to form, it was after midnight and then I kept waking up.  Well, the dogs let me sleep until 6 am this morning and then decided that it was play time.  I am up, got my chores done and was sitting down at my desk trying to decide what quilt to prep for tonight's FNSI.  I really, really, want to start my "Spools" quilt, BUT, my Chevron quilt and my Granny Squares quilts are staring at me.  So, tonight, one of these quilt tops WILL be done!

See you tomorrow with pictures.  Have a great Friday!

First House

I joined a group of ladies over at Cottons n Wool, who have challenged themselves to make this quilt:

I am a little behind, this is my first block.  I am not real crazy for how it turned out, but I promise you that they will get better!  LOL

Chevron Peek

Here's a peek at my Chevron quilt.  I am still using my stash of Minick and Simpson fabrics!

I also got an email today that I need to have my "Homespun Houses" block #3 completed by Wednesday and posted.  So that means I have to put my HST aside and start building a house.  I am going to be using some Minick and Simpson wovens.

Saturday Early Afternoon

We had an early tee time this morning, 6:33 am because of a men's club tournament.  So, I was home by 11 am and have completed my "Scrap Squares Doll Quilt" from Kathleen Tracy's book The Civil Was Sewing Circle.   It went together very easily.  It will probably be my submission for Darlene's June "Christmas Through The Year".

Now, it's back to work on my HSTs!

Friday Morning

I have been busy this morning catching up with my housework and some sewing.  I made June's Temecula's mini quilt.

The second quilt is this month's Schnibbles called "Leap Year".  I used some left over fabric/two patch that I used for a baby quilt last year.  That made this easy peasy!

I will work some this afternoon on my "Chevron" quilt--sewing lots and lots of HSTs'.

Under the Rainbow

Ok, who figured out that I was on vacation this week?!  Well, I got four quilts pieced together and even got caught up with a little extra housekeeping!  Here is my 4th and final quilt.  It is called "Under the Rainbow" and is in the June/July issue of Quilt.  I used more of my scraps, this time blues from a variety of Minick and Simpson's fabrics.

I am off to get my hair cut and when I get home, it's down to the quilter to get started reducing "the Stack"! PS  No Vicki, you may NOT have this quilt!!  My plan was to make another "Endless Possibilities" but this got in the way!  Love you!  BUT, you can have this strange little table topper that I made with the leftover scraps!
