Design Wall Monday

I have to fess up before I show you what's on my design wall.  I got a pound of See's Nuts and Chews for Christmas and I finally couldn't stand it any more and opened them up on Saturday and finished them yesterday.

So, my quilt is a pattern from John Q Adams called "Lap of Luxe".  He used some Luxe in Bloom fat quarters and started his blocks 8.5".  I started mine at 5".  I didn't like the bigger blocks and I think mine shows off the fabric as nicely as John's.

I am off to work, so see you next time!

Quilting Caught Up!

Yesterday after golf, I spent the afternoon downstairs catching up on some of my quilting projects.  I have two to show you and after I sew the binding on a couple, I will show you those as well.  The pattern for my little wall hanging is called "Pixelated Patchwork Quilt" and I got it off of Moda Bake Shop.  Mine looks totally different from the picture on MBS.  I took the two finished quilts with me to the golf course thinking that I could get some good pictures.  Problem was IT WAS WAY TOO WINDY!

The second quilt is my "Mama Said Sew" quilt called "Double Layer Cake" that I got off of the Missouri Quilt Company You tube site.

I have a roast going in the crock pot for supper and am in my sewing room starting another quilt!  Have a great week and will catch you later!

New Wall Hanging??

Good afternoon, it's rainy here in Eastern Washington, so I have completed a 40" x 40" wall hanging or table topper.  I had four mini charm packs of Moda's "Migration", and found a quilt shop that had some yardage for the background.  It now moves downstairs to the stack on the quilter.

Have a great week-end!

My Temecula Quilt Valentine Quilt

I finished my Temecula Quilt Company Valentine quilt yesterday after dinner.  It was a quick and easy one.

I also made a scrappy mini using the same pattern.  However, I am going to use this flimsy to make some pot holders for cast iron.  A vendor at the Prosser Farmer's Market requested six such pot holders.

I also would like you to know how much I like my new Oliso iron.  It is fantastic!

Country Homecoming Quilt

Truthfully, I wasn't sure if I would ever finish this quilt.  There were times when it was a struggle to catch up.  BUT,  it is finished!  I took pictures of two blocks so you could see that I cross-hatched on the houses.  I echoed around the vines, leaves and berries.  (I hate those berries!)

Brrrr Baby It's Cold Outside!!

I finished my "Scattered" flimsy tonight using Timeless Treasures "Brrr"!  It goes on the stack downstairs.  I have to order fabric for the backing.

I also bought myself a nice Valentine's gift and it arrived in the mail today!

I love that when you release the iron, it "stands up" off the fabric!

Civil War Scrap Doll Quilt

I finished my Civil War Scrap Doll Quilt today.  I like the way that it turned out!

I had my doctor's appointment today and asked about my obsessive compulsive behavior.  In actuality, it is a side effect from my restless leg medication.  The bottom line is, I can sleep at night and be compulsive or taper down my meds and have my legs go nuts and keep me awake all night.  What a trade off!!

Small Projects

Have you ever watched the Missouri Quilt Company's tutorials on Youtube?  They are GREAT and so easy to follow.  While watching the tutorial for the "Zig Zag" table runner, I saw a tutorial on making quilted balls, not sure what else to call it!  It was quick and easy but now that I have made one...

I also made a table runner for a friend who loves horses.  I used the pattern that I have been obsessed with lately using Moda's "Queen of the Ranch".

I woke up this morning super early and was sitting at my sewing machine by 5:30 am.  We had a frost delay at the golf course so I had plenty of time to made a MQC quilt called "Double Layer Cake" using Moda's "Mama Said Sew".  It measures 60" x 60".

I haven't decided if I will put one or two borders on it but have plenty of time to decide.
So, I am home from golf, started a pot of Red Beans and Rice for dinner cut my finger on the red bean lid and am in the process of working on my "Scattered" quilt.

Catch you later!

Granny's Scrap Box

I finished sewing the binding on my "Simply Charming" "Granny's Scrap Box" a few minutes ago.  So you get to see it hot off the presses (so to speak!).

Will be back tomorrow with some more small projects!
