"Monday, Monday, can't trust that day"

Sew, how was your week-end?  I was up early this morning and made another pot holder.  BUT, I don't like how it fits my hand, so that project is OVER!!  Before I played 18 holes of golf this morning, I caught the dogs looking so cute in my chair, that I took their picture!  They think that it is their chair.  They like to look out the front window to see if anyone enters their territory!!

I was home from golf by 10:30 am.  I went down to the dungeon and quilted my little quilts, including my two bow ties, and finished up a lap quilt that I am calling Farmers Market.  You can see them when the binding is all done.  It's chicken enchiladas for dinner and I had better get started.

Oh, I have decided on my next project.  It will be a string quilt.  I have bags and bags of scraps that I am hoping to use up..Scrappy quilts are my theme for the year!

I'll Show You Mine if...

I said that I would show you what I have been working on.  I saw this quilt in the new "Quilts and More".  I used some Moda's "Coquette".  I thought it would be cute for a baby girl.

I also made two small quilts from a pattern that I have wanted to make for some time--bowties, one for me and one for my sister.

Vicki's Favorite Color is Blue!

I managed to get some golf in this morning.  It was cool but sunny!  Let me know what you are working on.

PS  I just finished another little experiment, a heart shaped potholder!  I think that I will have to add a hanging loop to one side.

Star Light Quilt Along Progress

I finished my Star Centers today.  I love the fabric, but probably could have chosen a different collection for the quilt along.  Oh Well!

Clue For The Day: WATCHOUT!

Boy, I think that my hormones are mad at me today.  I have been surly all day.  And, I have eaten four donuts and six cookies!  I think my diet took the day off too.  One of the young gals at work said, "I'm on my period" and that's what I felt like!

Any how, after supper, I will still be working on my hsts!  And hiding in my sewing room.

PS. I changed my retirement day from October 2 to September 2!

Give me a WHOOP WHOOP,  my hsts are all sewn and now just need to be cut, pressed, and trimmed!

HST for my Star Light Star Bright Quilt a Long

I got a bit distracted while working on my HSTs.  Talk about boring!  I took a break and was looking for one thing and found another, sew I made another fabric basket.  It measures about 12" long and 8" deep.  I absolutely love the fabric!!

Unless I can find another distraction, it's back to my HSTs.  I will take a picture of the stack when I'm finished!

PS  I was able to play a little golf today--no snow, no rain, but it got very windy!!

Baby Changing Mat

One of my Prosser Farmer's Market customers is going to be a grandma for the first time.  Her daughter is a germ a phobic and wanted a changing mat that she could stash in her diaper bag.  Sew, this morning, I played a little and came up with this!  I quilted 2 one-yard pieces of fabric, cut it in half and rounded the corners.  Two mats measure ~22" x 29",  It is double sided, rolls up and ties into a nice neat mat!

My Sun Burned Zebra is Finished??

I finished up my black, white and red scrappy quilt when I ran out of some of the fabric.  I am thinking of sewing borders on but am not sure.  I will have to find some more fabric.  I looked for Lakehouse "Annie's Farmhouse" because I like the black with white dots and strawberries.  However, I couldn't find any so will have to decide some time soon if borders go on it or not.  In the mean time, I think it will make a nice lap size quilt with flannel backing!  Let me know what you think, PLEASE!!

What's Black and White and Red All Over?

We got snow yesterday and it is 19 degrees, but, the sun is shining!!  It is suppose to snow again this afternoon/evening.  Since I can't play golf, I searched through my stash and came up with an idea for a scrappy quilt.  It will be Black, White and Red. I cut a nice stack of 4.5" squares and a stack of 2.5" squares.

The blocks consist of four patches and squares sewn together to make a "cog".  I only have four blocks made and, I have no idea how big it will turn out.  I will let you know!

Sew, I am listening to "The Execution" by Dick Wolf and trying to decide what to fix for supper.  Soup sounds good!  What are your Friday plans?

Scrappy Sunday or "Nervous Nelly Day"!

Yes, I am getting nervous and so excited for the Super Bowl to start that I just can't sit still.  Super woman has been at her sewing machine since 6 am and here is what she has done!!  I made three pouches of various sizes, three table toppers out of scraps and various sizes and finished my "Rangoon" quilt.  I also have roasted a turkey, peeled potatoes, made dressing, and I am looking through my magazines for something else to start.  Someone please knock me out!!

The Week In Review!

I was able to spend some time last week end in the dungeon with my quilting machine (no name)!;  I quilted my two Valentine quilts and a mini from Temeculta.  I also started another quilt but I don't like it.  Should I rip the quilting out, or just start another row of something else??

And, since there is no rest for the wicked :), here is a pic of my next project.  It is called "Rangoon" and I am using an old jelly roll called "Urban Indigo".

Tomorrow is the Super Bowl, GO HAWKS!!!
