Holiday Sewing

I didn't think that I would have time to do any sewing during the holidays, but DH's hip replacement has been a piece of cake.  Very little pain and, he pushes himself and refuses offers of help!  He had his staples removed this morning.

The first quilt was made with Bonnie and Camille's "Vintage Modern" that I got a couple of years ago.  I made a pattern called "Lattice and Chains", which can be found on Moda Bake Shop.

The second quilt is a small lap quilt.  I used Moda's "Modern Background--Ink".  I am going to add a border as soon as the fabric arrives.

I got up this morning and worked on some simple projects--potholders and sewing the binding on a Christmas table topper.  I cut some fabric for a new modern quilt called "City Park".  I am going to have to take a trip to the fabric store for a couple more colors of solids.

I have also been thinking about going for a walk.  With any luck, that urge will go away before too long!!

  1. Really stunning use of the Background-Ink fabric. Great visual. And having watched my mother recover from joint replacement twice, when she pushed harder the second time she definitely recovered faster. Kudos to your DH!

  2. I love both quilts. Glad to hear hubby is doing so well. My son-in-law just had a hip replacement and is also doing well. Have a very Happy New Year, Hugs
