I have been working on so many new little projects that I wasn't sure which one to post for August's Christmas Through The Year. But, I finally decided on "Little Coins" from Kathleen Tracy's Small Quilt Challenge. It has been quilted, the binding sewn on, washed and dried and ready for gift giving.

Sunday Progress
It is Sunday afternoon, we didn't have a tee time today, so, I did a little more cleaning/organizing in my sewing room. Friday I bought a wall magazine rack, installed it this morning and added my "Quilties" to the outside. The lowest slot holds patterns for my current projects and the top of my wish list! The second and third slots hold patterns further down the list plus some odds and ends.

Friday Friday
Here is my Friday Round-up:
I also did a little cleaning on my sewing table/desk; put patterns away, dusted, and did a little fabric sorting (very little)! So, after golf tomorrow, it is back to work on my Irish Chain quilt.
PS I tried making some smaller baskets and ended up throwing them out! Just big baskets from now on!

First Basket
Instead of practicing my paper piecing or sewing my Tetris block, I worked on a new little project, a fabric basket. After having made several tote bags, the principal is the same, so ta da:
I followed directions THIS TIME and now that I think I know what I am doing, I will make a few changes. But it's a good start!

Friday Friday Friday
"Friday Friday Friday" was a phrase that a friend used to sing to his daughter on Friday mornings!
I was called into work last night about 8 pm and got home at 2:30 am. Let me tell you that I was very tired. My feet even hurt. To keep myself awake between tests I worked on my "General's Wives" quilt, which I will show you Monday for BOM Rehab. I made two more totes:
The dogs let me sleep in until about 6:30 am when they started playing on the bed. So, I got up and very slowly got my chores done and sat down to my sewing machine for a couple of hours before my hair appointment. I bought a kit to participate in Pam Buda's "Forget Me Not Sew-along" and got caught up with four blocks! They are suppose to be 5" but some how mine are only 4 7/6"
Have you been viewing the "Bowls with Borders" with Madam Samm.
I love that pattern but have never paper pieced before. Well, today I practiced and look what I made paper pieced trees:
I still need to practice before I try my bowlies! No golf tomorrow so will work on my Irish Chain Quilt! And my "Tetris" block.
Have a great week-end.

Charming Coins Doll Quilt
Good morning, I have been busy for a Saturday morning. I got up, had lots of coffee, made a potato salad and cheesecake dessert for a family reunion this afternoon. Worked on my black and stone Irish Chain, and finished my "Charming Coins Doll Quilt" with the Kathleen Tracy Doll Quilt a month project.
I used the same fabric for the borders rather than the way Kathleen designed the quilt.
